Today was the day of Tom Robinson's trial. I prepared all my evidence and I knew I was ready for the battle. I told the Judge that there was no evidence to connect Tom to this crime. There was evidence that a crime was committed, but not that he was involved in it. Also, all the injuries were located on Mayella's left side. Tom was obviously incapable of doing this because his left arm was disabled. The only reason Tom is on trial is because we live in a world in which people assume a black man must be guilty and a black man who showed pity for a white woman must be punished.
