Literary Critique The Hobbit is a book made by J.R.R TOLKIEN and published in 1980.What happens in this book is the main character Bilbo Baggins a hobbit goes on a very dangerous mission with one wizard named Gandalf and thirteen dwarves.Their destination is a mountain full of dwarf mined gold with a dragon in it.I thought the book was pretty good very well described in detail,but overall it was a good book. My favorite character in the story was Gollum, he is a psycho troll like creature that loves one thing in the world “his precious aka his ring” and I find that really funny.When Gollum found Bilbo in the cave they played the ancient game of riddles for Bilbo's life or the way out of the cave for Bilbo.Bilbo had found Gollum's ring earlier in the story and he had his ring.Bilbo had basically lost so he tricked Gollum and instead of saying a riddle he asked him what's in my pocket and he guessed wrong.Bilbo put on the ring and it made him invisible. So Gollum was gonna take him out of the cave and kill him but he couldn't find his ring so he knew bilbo stole it and he went after him because he thought he had escaped but he really showed him the way out.
