The House On Maple Street “Bye Mom and Dad” It was these words that began to change Ariana Gening’s and Jack Gening’s lives as two children in 2100 forever. They didn’t know it, but a couple of minutes after these words, they would never be the same. Jack said, ”Do you want to make Bob nice?” Ariana replied,“Why not, he’s a big bully.” This was Ariana’s power, being able to bend people to her will with a charming voice. But they couldn’t do this yet because they still had to go to school. Teacher L. had assigned the small class of Jack, Ariana, Ben, Bob, and Marina homework that was due that day. When they got there, however, the house began flying! SHHHHHHHHSHHHHHHHHSHHHHHHH! Was the noise it made. The perfect lift-off wasn’t perfect for the four friends. However, as soon as it landed, Ariana was taken by someone that had already disappeared by the time Jack looked. What he didn’t know was the dark spot on the rug was the trap that concealed her. It was called an infinity cube. Ben and Marina, confused, ran away as fast as they could in opposite directions. Jack yelled, “ARIANA, ARIANA.” Jack, a solemn look on his face, grabbed a newspaper to get his spirits up. what he read was just the beginning. The two things that caught his attention were the date, Oct 29, 2010! The other thing was that they had named Ariana’s gift” a golden gift” and were saying that every person that contained this gift should report to the government in order to get a reward. Her roommate’s was that he, Joe, could turn into a giant spider at will. Some people had amazing ones, like seeing through walls, teleporting, and flying. Others were crazy, like Joe’s. She had suspected since day one that there was a way out. After all, how else did they get food to them. There were no farms or animals, so the food was produced by people outside the hub.
