shows and their digitized family. Montag screaming “Shut up, shut up, shut up!” on p.g. 75 shows how captivated society became from the walls. Denham’s dentifrice commercial plays a catchy, annoying jingle that easily sinks into the minds of society and distracts them. This example explains the power of the walls and how technology affects the future.
In Nicholas Carr’s article, “How Smartphones Hijack Our Minds” (November 10, 2017) Carr discusses the implications of allowing our smartphones to have such a huge effect on our lives. Smartphones serve many purposes, and have created massive societal effects throughout the world despite being introduced roughly only two decades ago. One can converse with anyone in the world at any given moment, they can watch any television show they want, and they can receive alerts so they no longer have to put effort into remembering things themselves. However, with so much control over people’s own lives, one begins to wonder about the negative consequences of the smartphones themselves.
Ray Bradbury actually has “argued till the cows come home that Fahrenheit 451 is not about government censorship. In his mind, the novel is about the scary potential for TV to replace books, causing us to forget how to think for ourselves. ”(Shmoop Editorial Team) Fahrenheit 451 becomes a classic Anzaldua 3 and Ray Bradbury’s best-known work because of “its exploration of themes of censorship and conformity. In 2007, Bradbury himself disputed that censorship was the main theme of Fahrenheit 451, instead explaining the book as a story about how television drives away interest in reading: "Television gives you the dates of Napoleon, but not who he was.
Miki ended his documentary with something which reminds Michael Moore to gain attention of companies to inform them what he has discovered. The documentary shocked me because big companies don’t consider it their responsibility to make it sure that no child labor is being used. The footage of The Dark Side of Chocolate shows that the footage is unstable and gritty. This is due to the reason of hidden cameras that resulted in shaky imagery but due to the gritty nature of the film. The director has shown such a heavy topic of discussion which needs bright tone and Mistrati accomplished that.
(Trailer ends) Bill Gates: Well, I thought that game looks quite interesting, especially the part where Harry learns Wingardium Leviosa by being part of the Village People. (No one laughs) Let’s move on to the next brand new game for the Kinect. (Show Next Trailer)
Overall, the movie tells the same story as the book, but it definitely changes up some of the key parts of the story, and sometimes just adds completely new parts. The book was completely crazy and exciting, which the movie tried to do the same but wasn’t able to capture the story perfectly. The Mist is a novel that really shows what people might do when they are confined in such small quarters with others that they know little to nothing about. Throughout the book, David and his son, Billy, go to the supermarket to buy some groceries for the family.
Even far before the release of Stonewall (2015) it was foreshadowed that the film could very well be a tremendous flop in the box office. Many critics at news websites have stated that Emmerich totally misses the point on what Stonewall’s history entails, most of the statements made judge Emmerich on the fact that he has changed a very diverse cast to a predominately white, cisgender male cast to target towards a more straight audience. If Emmerich tried to retell Stonewall’s history so that straight people would be educated on the struggles of young LGBTQ+ people during the 1960s, he surely did not research well enough, as Corin Walmsley of the Huffington Post says: Replacing the real heroes of Stonewall with a cis, white, gay guy doesn’t
That new name is written on his crown in Revelation 19, and is known to none other than to him alone. But we are informed that the name is written on the foreheads of his elect 144,000 in Revelation 7, 9, etc. That name would be his new name, or God’s dispensational name in the Dispensation of the Millennium. He will probably have it alongside with the name “Jesus” because the work of salvation will still go on during the millennial period, until «the new heaven and the new earth» appear. Since this name will be the new name of Jesus during the millennial dispensation, it follows that that will be God’s new name in the Dispensation of the Millennium.
Unlike any of the other Hamlet movies, Hawke gives his famous speech inside of a Blockbuster movie store. The movie was directed so that Hawke begins by thinking this all in his head before transitioning to giving the speech out loud. The point at which he begins to talk aloud is when Hamlet says “there’s the rub, for in that sleep of death what dreams may come” (3.1.73-74). The reason is because Hamlet is worried about if he will dream after death and that he will have no control over these dreams. Therefore, Hawke begins talking at this point because he comes back to reality and realizes that the unknowns to death are scary.
A recent news report showed teenagers unknowingly crossing international boarders illegally. Business owners have complained about Pokémon Go users trying to access warehouses and loading docks to get a ball, and private establishments have noted non-paying customers entering their facility for the same such purpose. Where the game may provide an outside element of engagement, it is clear that there has been a disregard for the boundaries within the real world, and here lies the danger. According to Dalia Lašaitė, co-founder and CEO of CGTrader, “3D games and interaction is a vital part of our modern society. However, when the line between reality and the real world fades, it is equally essential that those users, specifically younger audiences, realize and respect the social and physical boundaries, regardless of how entertaining the game is.”

I will be out of the office all of next week. I’m keeping Amal in the loop on what we’ve done in DL2 (and SGD). I’ll give him even more details today and tomorrow. I think it would be a good idea to include him in a few meetings this week. I don’t anticipate him needing to do anything more than running additional backups next week.
In The Essay “The News” Neil Postman demonstrates the problems with News on TV and the Psychology behind it of why our society continues to watch. Postman displayed many points that becuase television news is must appeal to everyone in a short amount of time; the coverage is often shallow and gives a false impression of the world. Neil Postman describes the time restrictions of (22 mins) because of commercials overtaking the news. This reflects “The News” as we know it to become a big piece of entertainment that has nothing to do with the intellectual information that affects our lives. The lack of in-depth look on News nowadays draws an Appearance vs. Reality that the News isn’t what It should be.
Joshua, I agree with Sara’s response. The solution is a cultural shift. Until the MHA program my impression of HIPAA was, I could not talk about patient in the elevator. I think most clinical staffs do not understand the purpose of HIPAA. The use of smart phones to sent images of rashes, radiology images, EKGs, surgical specimens, and clinical data is rampant.
Farnsworth could not have realized what his invention would do to the world. The importance is as clear as a crystal as almost every house in America has at least one television. Television has changed the way we communicated information such as news or simply watching a baseball game from across the country. At one time the New York times even went so far as to say that the television was going to fail because Americans didn’t have time to watch a screen with useless things on it, however they were horribly wrong as Americans made time to binge watch their favorite television shows. None of this would have been if it wasn’t for Farnsworth’s original invention and that is why people call him the father of Television.
