“The excitement that comes with being surrounded by other fans there to cheer on their team. Being at the game is a much better atmosphere than just sitting on the couch and watching it at home” (Jessica,2015). Nowadays technology and people go by as one, but even though this is a fact, the feeling and experience you get from live events, can not be compared to anything. Being around other people who enjoy the same things as you, the environment of celebration and being able to share the experience can no be transferred to a digital experience. The human mind works and remembers better when senses are involved. One of the things that makes a live event more enjoyable is that you are surrounded by people who have the same interests as you and enjoy them. Imagine talking to people face to face, knowing what they look like and that he or she is taller than you impacts on the way you socialize. Being in the same place at an event allows you to share comments with others, a simple “that was a great shot” or “ the lighting is amazing” can make you remember a moment. There …show more content…
This is because the experience is based on all that happens and surrounds the event. On the other hand, it is hard for you to remember the first concert you saw on TV, in what channel or who was in the room with you, the experience maybe was not as enjoyable digitally. Creating memories consist of vivid information that involves all or most your senses and that the experience is so good or exciting you want to return for more. It is been said that “there are three main types of learning and making memories, which are visual, auditory and kinaesthetic. Visual and auditory learning can be achieved through digital experiences, however a lack of human contact can decrease motivation and energy levels” which makes a digital experience less enjoyable and a live event a one you
For the observational aspect in the assignment, I attended the Georgia Apple Festival in Ellijay, GA, an annual celebration that takes place for two weekends in October for over 45 years now. Hundreds of vendors set up at the Lion's Club Fairgrounds to sell arts, crafts, and food for all in attendance; for the children there are plenty of activities including a rock-climbing wall, a bungee zipline, and a train that rides around the entire festival. Other events held during these two weeks in Ellijay include an Apple Festival Parade, an Apple Classic Auto Show, an Apple Pie Recipe Contest, and an Apple Queen Pageant. I attended on the last Saturday of the Festival and there were still plenty of people in attendance. As we walked from the
When people analyze and evaluate the history of sports from a technological aspect, games have tremendously been influenced where gathering content is attainable expeditiously with the click of a mouse. The ability to gather information so rapidly in today’s sports market is something that was unheard of about 20-30 years ago. Furthermore, technology just doesn’t influence sports; it has an impact on everything in society. For example, music has been recorded for over centuries when technology was an afterthought. There were no computers, digital mixing systems or the latest technological equipment available to past musicians during the 1920’s or 1930’s.
Fans support their favorite team by watching them on tv and listening to them on the radio. If you're lucky, you can buy some tickets to go see the game in person at the home stadium. Apparel is also an important piece of fan wear these days. Many stores sell shirts with the logo of their team somewhere on the shirt. Some stores even sell jerseys that are copied from your favorite players real jersey that you can purchase(Bizjournals).
It also provides good memories to last a long time. Studies show that people who attend a sporting event and cheer for their team in a positive way experience an improved sense of wellbeing ("The Role of Social Support"). Research has also revealed that watching sports can have a positive effect, not only on those watching, but on those playing, as well ("The Role of Social Support”). By showing your support for a team, you can help to increase the players’ motivation and inspire them to perform better ("The Role of Social Support"). Supporting a team can create a positive experience for both the spectators and the players, and it’s an activity that can foster a sense of unity among
Although I have never played the game of football, watching it and many other sports, live and on television, is one of
Even in the severe division in some of the most intense rivalries, it still brings us together. It brings us to the same place, whether in front of television, or in the stadium, with the same goal. To see our team win. It provides respite from the mundane, or stress filled lives so many of us lead. Or possibly it gives those past age a way to still experience something they are passionate about, whether it be football, baseball, basketball or golf.
I attended ASL Bingo on September 22nd, 2015. I was really nervous all day leading up to the event because I was not sure what to expect. I was picturing a really intimidating environment with the majority of people being Deaf. I was also nervous about knowing what numbers were being called during the bingo game because I only knew numbers one through twenty-nine. Once I got to the event and started meeting people, I felt better about it.
We share the memories of game winning goals being scored and water bottle fights after practice. At soccer practices or games I felt like I could be myself. I was free to be silly and express myself. Despite not playing soccer anymore and being much older, I find myself in similar situations as I was while playing soccer.
The value of sports- the value of spectator sports- outstrips all that. Sports is a field of love. We love sports.” This use of pathos helps the author define why the glory of sports outshines possible negatives, as well as inspiring readers to appreciate sports more deeply. The author’s use of ethos is very scarce, however it is used when

Imagine you are sitting at a baseball game eating cracker jacks or at a football game yelling because your team scored or you could be yelling at the refs because they made a bad call. There are many people that love sports but there was also a lot of people that loved sports when they became popular in the 1920’s. Sports have came a long why since then. They have became more competitive, the skill levels have improved a lot, and they are also easier to watch and keep up with because of how far technology has came. Who doesn’t love to watch baseball in the summer?
The movie Chariots of Fire directed by Hugh Hadson tells us the true story of two British athletes, Harold Abrahams and Eric Liddell, participating in the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924. One of the athletes is Eric Liddell, a Scottish preacher who tries to honor his faith and the Church. He is convinced that God is pleased when he realized through his sport itself. The other one is Harold Abrahams who is an English Jew and a student fights for his personal recognition in society who still reject him because of his religion.
The Italian Healthcare System and Values of Sports Citizens in many countries have the right to obtain certain healthcare plans to preserve their physical and mental well-being. However, healthcare options often have different variations in different countries. The Italian and the United States’s systems may have similarities, but there are certainly many differences in how each country approaches healthcare. Along with healthcare, the value of sports in Italy also have many similarities and differences to the citizens of both countries.
You feel relaxed when you're with your friends, and when you're doing something that you enjoy doing. However, one side reasons why sports bring many together and connect is maybe they might want the same goal at the end to win a event or make a meaningful memory with others. By participating in a sport, or multiple sports, it can have a positive impact on one’s
Understanding Digital Inclusion The society in which we live in today is advancing towards the era of modernization in a very rapid manner. Dominated by the ever-changing developments of technology, most of us are directly or indirectly affected by the transformation which comes along with digital revolution. Being a tool which have transformed and have the capability to transform how we live and connect to one another, new technology is often regarded as a double-edged sword which is associated with social stratifications as it can either alleviate or exacerbate existing divisions in the society (Warschauer & al., 2004).
