Educator: An Educator is another role a sports coach should take on. Being an educator means you are a teacher, teaching players new skills and rules of the game. A teacher is an educator, they teach what they know through what they have learnt and their experiences, they share their knowledge with those who need to learn. It is important to have a teacher as without one you wont be able to know specific knowledge and get answers to your questions, the teachers are experienced and know what they are talking about, they know what is right and wrong and what rules are needed to follow. An evaluator is someone whom is a researcher and problem solver, they find a way they can improve skills and teach others how to carry out what they have learnt. An evaluator will watch someone perform and criticize their abilities in able to help improve them. An evaluator is important as having a good evaluation of your abilities as it reveals your mistakes allowing for learning and improvement, it also allows players to learn from each other’s experiences, widening their expertise and knowledge. Jim Boeheim as a coach will not only teach but also evaluate his player’s skills during training and in games, he will share his feedback from what he has witnessed and offer tips to improve or present the right way. With his evaluation he is enhancing the players capability making them stronger and better. With out this the players could carry on doing something wrong and not learn the right way, this could cause problems in a game or even injuries and they could be performing a movement wrong and straining the …show more content…

Questions are the raising of a doubt or of something, it is important to ask questions as they create the challenges to benefit our learning, they widen our knowledge as they typically result in new information. Question something could similarly be evaluating it you are thinking on what can be improved, what’s wrong and what’s good about it, as expressed this will improve skill and knowledge. Not only should an educator as him/or herself questions but should also be questioning the players, by doing this it gets them to think for themselves and not always get told. With their own thoughts they are more likely to understand better and remember more information. An example with Jim Boeheim is that during training he would either ask questions to himself about how to improve the team, what drills to run and what they will work on, what could benefit the team and what may or may not be working, with these thoughts he is thinking of his own ways to improve the team and what would be beneficial to them. He would also ask the players questions about the game or about moves, this gets them thinking and understanding more, it also shows Jim that the players understand what they are
