Truth is absolute. It has the intensity of the brightest light, the force of ten thousand hurricanes. Many of God’s people are unable to receive it except in tiny amounts because it is exceedingly pure (Ps 12:6). The prophet is called to speak God’s truth in the ears of listeners which prophet may encounter, if God has given His servant a message, He will also provide an audience to hear that message. Anointings To be anointed for service means to be endowed with God’s supernatural ability. The anointing takes useless flesh and equips it for spiritual productivity. It gives the vessel spiritual power. No one can do anything profitable for God unless anointed first. There are several types and varying degrees of anointings depending upon the work and the consecration of the vessel. The anointings, as well as the training ground of the prophet, may shift. Also, the prophet may stand in more than one office. Prophet/Teacher is a most common combination. A pastor, evangelist or apostle may all wear the mantle of the prophet, which will only enrich their ministry. Sometimes one is promoted to the ministry of the prophet after several years of faithful service elsewhere. Below are some of the special types of ministries the prophet may be anointed to stand in. There is nothing gratifying than a prophet on the keyboard, base or drums. They can tap into the anointing that rests upon the speaker, and usher in the glory of God. Gad, Iddo and David were all musical prophets. It is not uncommon for a prophet to turn to a musician and tell them to change the beat, or go into the upper register of the keyboard, because they know what sound will trigger the glory of God. High sounds gains heaven’s appeal and the glory appears. Warfare is established by the high sounds of musical instruments (Psalms
The pastor as the leader in the church and the overseer of the disciple-making ministry affirms God’s calling on the lives of His people. As he follows the leading of the Holy Spirit, he can then determine what people are best suited to meet the needs of the
Smith presents an excellent reminder to preachers that their duty must be to respect God’s word and unite it with his assembly. The preacher must let the scripture characterize the doctrine and express it in a manner that influences the hearer. Doctrine eventually must inspire our living. Smith provides a lot of examples of this within and even concludes the book with two example sermons that puts what he framed in the rest of the book to practice. The preacher has to be an exegetical escort guiding his people into the proximity of God.
He speaks as One with authority; as Matthew noted in verse 23, Jesus taught in the synagogues. He was called Rabbi, Lord, Master, Teacher, and other names assigned to someone with authority. He spoke with a voice of authority that amazed crowds, even the curiosity seekers who were not believers. When He begins to deliver the Great Sermon, not only were the disciples listening, but also a multitude of followers within hearing distance.
, “what does discipleship today involve?”. According
People who choose to follow the prophets obtain the blessings that God has promised. Those who reject the gospel and God’s prophets lose those blessings and distance themselves from God. Those who reject the prophets and choose not to follow God are in a condition called apostasy. Apostasy results in division, confusion, and loss of priesthood
He would inquire, and as mouthpiece speak out the revelations just as they had it fixed up in their hearts.... according to the desires of the heart, the inspiration comes, but it may be the spirit of man that gives it.... This is the way the High Priests and the 'priesthood' as you have it, was introduced into the Church of Christ almost two years after its beginning--and after we had baptized and confirmed about two thousand souls into the church." It says in Psalm 150: 3-6, “Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” This encourages the musicians to play each of the musical families to be used in a way that will glorify Him. Personally, music has always been a significant factor in my life. I have been moved to tears by songs like “I Can Only Imagine” by MercyMe and have jumped up and down to songs like “Shackles” by Mary Mary.
Music can bring the brightest of joys that keeps us moving through our dull and boring lives. An example of this joy is Ishmael Beah’s life as a boy soldier in his book A Long Way Gone. As he tells you his story, he tells of his dance group with his friends, the times he heard music in the middle of war, and how music saved him from the madness that brewed within him. Music has the unique ability to create peace in a person’s life despite the difficulties surrounding them, and to bring a constant reminder of who they are as a person.
One of the most well-known prophets of the Bible, Elijah represented God in a bold manner. He appeared in the later chapters of 1 Kings and the opening few chapters of 2 Kings. God sent Elijah during this time to warn Israel to repent from idolatry. Through his various miracles, this courageous prophet also showed who the real God was. Elijah’s acts and non-hesitant ways are a great example to God’s people today.
In Thomas Long’s The Witness of Preaching, he aims to urge the reader to become a reliable witness of the gospel by way of ample preparation before entering a pulpit. The text offers to the reader a deeper understanding of the ministry of preaching. A useful component of the text contains informative bits of information that make the reader aware of the lengthy but necessary preparation needed for an adequate explanation of the scripture. Of primary importance is the consideration of the congregation when a preacher is first approaching the text. This point is of vital importance as it signifies that the speaker is a member of the body of Christ and the congregation.
St Francis of Assisi was born in Assisi in 1181. Originally, Francis was named by his mother, but then soon renamed Francis, which pretty much means Frenchman, by his father. His mother was a pretty lady from France and his dad was a rich merchant owned farmland. Due to his father’s wealth, Francis lived good, easy-going life. Francis was one of those people that you automatically liked once you met them because everyone loved him.
In this chapter, Jesus is revealed as walking among the seven lampstands (representing the church), holding the seven stars in His right hand (representing the angels of the seven churches), His eyes like flames of fire, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword and His face like the sun shining in all its brilliance. He stands as the Judge of the whole
They get messages from God directly. The assignment of the prophets was to announce the present truth of their people. They spread-out the God’s messages to their contemporary people. The prophet of the Old Testament is the forerunner and model of the Christian preacher.
The archetypal forms of music were probably drum-based, prelusion instruments being the most easily handy at the time. For an example, rocks and sticks. These plain instruments are thought to have been used in spiritual tradition as representations of wild things. Therefore, many of us do not realized that listening to music really does help a person’s health physically or mentally. In that case, scientist really do recommend us to choose a person’s favorite songs based on a person’s chosen genre and blast the music up anywhere and
