Communication has been a top priority of people everywhere in this generation where language is highly valued. Because of technology communication has evolved into different forms; from a time-consuming one like writing-letters to a one-tap posts and text messages (Nayab, 2014). But this form of communication gets limited due to language barrierresulting to difficulty in understanding one another; on the other hand, art forms have none of that barrier. Art is everywhere that people tend to become so familiarized to it and ignore or take no notice of it anymore in their everyday living. Art can be anything a person wants to perceive as one -- it can be a song, painting, sculpture or something unusual and can only be appreciated by the viewer …show more content…
Some artists do not intend to impart their emotions in their artpieces but rather these artists would like to influence the emotions of other people. Each art piece offers two meanings, for those people who will simply look at it and for people who take their time to connect and understand the underlying meaning.
Each art piece is created for a reason. Whether to tell a story, share an experience, describe daily activities, or present a memory. Art has the need for self-expression and communicate these expressions (Rice, 1959).Artists choose subjects and create their pieces in a way they can show what message they want to convey. With their emotions – anger, happiness, sorrow, peacefulness, etc. – put into every stroke of brush in their paintings, notes in their songs, this makes their pieces unique and has the effect of being able to connect to people having the same emotions.
Art speaks to people even with different languages and arouses emotions and ideas. Its meaning is dependent on how a viewer understands it.Years may pass, more ways of communication may be created, but art will remain throughout the time.Stories shared through these art pieces will remain and surely be passed on. Its ability to reach out to any kind of people and communicate and leaves marks to every viewer makes art
Changing times also demand change in designs and learning new forms of art. Introduction Art, What is art? To many people art is a way to express creativity. To others art is a way to visualize emotions. Nonetheless, art can be expressed in many different forms such as music,
The ways in which people are capable of expressing themselves through the use of art is endless. To some extent, each person has an extremely different interpretation of introspection into their psych. In this paper though, the differences will be put on hold while the spotlight shifts to the similarities, for better or worse, that we all share. Alan Rath’s sculpture Infoglut for example, has a brutally honest take on how technology has shaped who we all are. Infoglut transforms parts of the human body through the use of technology and “industrial components.”(TOCA)
The Art is what significantly differentiate us from the other
The children are moved and may even be moved to tears, but art is supposed to make us feel, and it allows the children to accept that their feelings are natural and shouldn’t be hidden. (Buchanan,
Art is a really good way of communicating because anyone can look at a drawing and say o look that is a flower! “I draw because words are too unpredictable”(Alexie 5). One used this quote because it is really true that words are to unpredictable. “I draw because I
Although, when the added knowledge of how Tim, and possible Vermeer’, painting was made comes up the audience begins to question if it should still be art. Because the audience determines what is and is not art, the viewer
I] Introduction Lewis Hyde’s “The Gift”, subtitled “Creativity and the Artist in the modern world” is a deliberation – thesis, if you will - on the nature of the creative process; likening it to the principles of a gift economy and thereby highlighting the uneasy existence of creative labour and art in a modern world ruled by the ethos of capitalism. Published in 1983, Hyde’s work is heavily influenced by that of the acclaimed sociologist Marcell Mauss according to whom gift economies are marked by circulation and connectivity: goods have value only insofar as they are treated as gifts, and gifts can remain gifts only if they are continually given away. This results in a kind of engine of community cohesion, in which objects create social,
The turning point that highlighted the change of feelings and thoughts about Benin art started to take place after the First World War. New interest of objects, including the sculptures of Benin, was come to light. The acceptance of the African art was inescapable. The Europeans who defined the Benin art as primitive were the first who supported it. To demonstrate, it was claimed that there is no artwork without cultural content; and the society in which such artworks are produced must not be neglected.
Paintings in black and white When you see a painting, you are not just looking at the painting. You are looking at life captured at an infinitesimal amount of time. Paintings and photos do not just wholly display an image or a series of images; they are displaying the life and emotions of the painters. While visually you can view a painting just as that, one dimensional. There is an alternate way of perceiving and digesting images.
Introduction Visual and performing arts tend to act as separate entities within the field of education; considerably isolated from the majority of academia, these sectors are often considered to be secondary or elective options after completing primary education. The arts are an essential part of a well-rounded education, however, when an institute begins a budgeting process, the arts are rarely considered a top priority. For example, during periods of recession many public schools within the United Stated were forced to cut visual, performing and musical arts programs, despite studies that proved the exposure to the arts to be beneficial for students both academically and in extracurricular activities. Learning in an art-infused environment
1. Introduction ‘When any civilization is dust and ashes,’ [Jimmy] said, ‘art is all that’s left over. Images, words, music. Imaginative structures. Meaning – human meaning, that is – is defined by them.
In Yo-yo Ma’s writing, “Necessary Edges: Art, Empathy, and Education”, Ma discusses the importance of integrating arts in society and education; this differs from Rhys Southan’s writing, “Is Art a Waste of Time”, for it talks about how the “Effective Altruism” movement does not see art as valuable because it does not make major contributions to society. Art is a tool used to communicate with people; this tool positively impacts contemporary culture, for it brings different cultures closer together, changes opinions, and it is useful in education. Art is used all around the world to express culture. The art forms created by different cultures are shared with one another, and this creates subcultures and links cultures together.
Most art requires an audience, a fantastic performance but with no audience, does not bring about the message of the performance. The role of an audience is very prominent in the arts scene, be it being a spectator or a participant. However, audiences’ role in arts has significantly changed over the years. Audiences does not want to appreciate art just by viewing, they want to be involve in the process of art creation. Based on an article written by Ben Walmsley, Walmsley (2013) mentions that the trend now is that audience wants to “engage with the arts in a more participatory way”, so as to achieve a more immersive and fulfilling experience (p.1).
This research was carried out not to only show awareness toward the society but also why people should take art seriously. Often times, we can see lots of people debating whether art is important or not. This happened because the lack of exposure and knowledge that has been taught to them. Art can help to shape the society and affect the society to broaden their view of perspective in life by referring on the artworks because each work of art can give different meanings to life.
