Another goal I have is to be a great leader/ role model for not only my family, underclassmen, but my community. Being a leader now will help me show my family, underclassmen, and community that I work hard and that things don’t come easy. I am always willing to help out and make a difference in my community. Having set goals makes me want to work harder, and also making me realize the road will be hard. But with the work ethics I have that I’ve learned throughout high school, and will continue to learn in college will help me accomplish these much easier.
Laura, It is nice to meet you. I wish your son and your family smooth transitions in the next journey of him going to college. It takes a pure heart and compassion person to work with autism children and I admire you for what you do. You are in the right field for Human Services and best of luck on your LPC. It is hard to choose an event that had an impact on Human Services because there are so many but I also chose Jane Addams as well.
Through my relationship with Christ, I have learned who I really am and know my purpose in life. Simply put, it is through service to others that one finds an identity; consequently, enriching the community becomes the only sensible mission in life. This is why I am grateful for the Beyond the Bridges Ministry. It gives legs to my personal mission and allows me to bless the community through service. First, BTB allows me to serve as a mentor, encouraging and aiding men who seek the same success I was desperate to find.
I am evolved with volunteering at various events through the Interact club here at MHS. By volunteering within the town it gives me good morals. It teaches me to always give back to my community, but it is rewarding to help people in need. My leadership skills shines when I babysit. It is a huge responsibility to make sure a child, or sometimes an infant is safe at all times.
The program was a collaboration with a local church to provide children from disadvantaged backgrounds with academic support and guidance. During my time there, I have witnessed how being exposed to a positive environment could encourage the children to challenge themselves and strive for better. The children never ceased to amaze me. That being said, there are children around the world who are deprived of basic human rights, let alone access to proper education. One of my favourite quotes by Nelson Mandela goes, “There can
By actively participating in college it brings me satisfaction. Just by saying I am a college student, many people are fascinated. This generally applies to almost any college student. It doesn 't matter what one attends college for, simply attending college is impressive; Not only to others, but to oneself. For me, It brings a sense of proudness, because I 'm working hard to get a higher education and improve the person I am.
People say being polite and having manners will help you in life. At a young age I was taught to always be polite and have good manners and it has stayed with me to this day. I believe this is how I influence others in a positive way. When people witness me being polite it seems to influence them to be polite. By being a part of the National Honor Society will help me reach one of my goals I had when I started high school.
This would make everyone happy including teachers, parents, and of course the kids. The kids would be able to get really smart while making there own money so they could go to better colleges and they could get a better job so it would all work out in the end. And the only thing you need to achieve all of this is to pay kids for good
The purpose of being a believer is very meaningful to all of us no matter what religion we believe in. Religion creates this notion for providing us mental peace. With a peaceful mind and a support from a being separated by human’s strengths self-confidence in people as well. Confidence boosts because religion teaches us to work hard and with full dedication and honesty in work. There is a plethora of scholarships that greatly reward education. Being awarded the Alcorn Achieve scholarship has tremendously help cut down the cost of going to college, while saving my family some money for my other siblings to advance their education. I love being able to further my education so that one day I’ll be able to use my talents to avoid poverty. It is the key to a locked door, just waiting to be discovered. One day, I want to reflect on my younger years and know that I am responsible for something that was done to give me a great start in life.
Being one of the few who is eligible to be chosen for National Honor Society is an honor in itself, I have my teachers and peers to thank for helping me keep a positive attitude and a good character in and out of school. With the constant encouragement that I get from them, my character, scholarship and leadership all keep improving. I am hoping that by being chosen to be in NHS I can add serving the community and helping those in need to my list of improving qualities. Since the ninth grade when I was informed about NHS I was determined to keep my grades up to meet the required GPA, retaking exams when needed and paying close attention in my classes. I strove to be the absolute best I could, keeping my GPA at a 3.7 this school year hoping
The legacy I will leave for my children will be the values I teach them throughout their childhoods: compassion, hard work, and confidence. I whole-heartedly believe in treating others the way I want to be treated. That particular phrasing may sound cliche to some, but I believe it perfectly illustrates why being nice to others is so vital. When I was in grade school, and someone would make fun of me, I was offended by their insult, but I always
I’ve always been in Honors classes and get good grades, currently I have a GPA of 3.4 but am striving to better myself and get a 4.0. I try to always have a positive outlook on situations and prepare myself for challenging ones. I have great teamwork skills and I work great with different types of people even disabled/special needs. The philosophy of Capital One is “Hire great people and give them the opportunity to be great.” Meaning give one a chance to see how good they can be. I don’t want just a job at Capital One I want a career with Capital One.
