Introduction – Field of study
In this section I will cover briefly what a BA (Hons) in Strategic Brand Communications is and what a brand and brand strategy is. The course consists of the following modules: Brand Communication Strategy Planning, Brand and Brand Building, Brand Communication in Context, Channel and Media Planning and Relationship Management, lastly Research Methodology. To understand what this course is you first need to understand what a brand is.

So what is a brand?
A brand is a unique mark/symbol and or a name that distinguishes itself from competitors resulting in creating an image and promise to its consumers. This image and promise needs to be communicated from the brand to the consumer effectively thus resulting in the need for brand strategies to be implemented.

So what is a brand strategy?
“Brand strategy is a long-term plan for the development of a successful brand in order to achieve specific goals. A well-defined and executed brand strategy affects all aspects of a business and is directly connected to consumer needs, emotions, and competitive environments” (Gunelius. 2013).

Purpose and Key Functions

This course leads to a variety of promising positions and career paths it is up to the student to decide which he/she is best suited for. There seems to be a great need for this type of job especially in large cities, don’t be fooled though such a field requires only the best, determined problem solvers to do especially due to the ever changing world due to technologies rapid
