However there are lakes with water in several countries, but the water is not clean.. Most of the planet's fresh water in the north and south poles but many of the humans on the planet are located near the equator. With water, as so many things, it depends on where people live. It’s something people are condemned to think about all the time, in rich nations people have the luxury to ignore. That makes for a lower chance to access clean water, in the world and it is only going to get worse as the population around the world is about to increase 50% in the next 50 years ( UN News Center) Half of all houses in Africa are not lucky to have clean water to drink. The scenes of poverty were inescapable, evident on the faces of adults and children. It was extremely important to me to interact with the children as I would my sister or friend. To me they were not destitute kids; they were just kids, like
What I find interesting is that the people in the book The Jungle by Upton Sinclair who try to comfort other people who are suffering, like the settlement worker who gets Jurgis a job at a steel plant on the outskirts of town after hearing Teta Elzbieta’s horrible family life and then and there is also that doctor working on birth defects, who might have been able to help little Kristoforas Teta Elzbieta three year old son who dies from a sudden illness that he catches from the drafts of their poor little house if they only known that the doctor was looking for patients. But in the Chicago slums there are many more people in need and looking for help than there are people contributing to it. Like Madame Haupt mid wife who Jurgis has to
Charles Fishman, author of The Big Thirst: The Secret Life and Turbulent Future of Water, presents in chapter ten, “The Fate of Water”, the importance of recognizing the value of water in order to solve water problems all over the world. Fishman uses Senator Arlen Specter’s town hall speech and an app called “Water Your Body” to point out that the real problems with water are water illiteracy and water mythology. He adds that water problems will be solved when people understand the beauty and qualities of water. In continuance, water has a personality and the presence of it can change moods and help people feel better. For instance, the WET company helps people see the beauty of water through magnificent water fountains.
For one example, Hurricane Harvey. People from all over the world were able to help the citizens that got hit by hurricane Harvey. Through all of the fundraising, thirty-seven million dollars was raised for the victims of the hurricane, which shows that many people are not selfish. And last but not least, people of northern Texas were able to help and show that they are not selfish by taking in whole families during the recovery of Hurricane Harvey.
In the first story, she recalls how she went to go pick up her father who was walking home in the rain, about 30 miles away from their said home. When questioned about the lack of coat he had brought previously to work, he tells them he lent it to a homeless person, because he knew someone was looking out for him. Abram was able to tie this story to the values and lessons she believes is important when it comes to the United States. This story has the ability to impact those in the audience who had similar experiences due to growing up– or living in– the lower and middle class society. It may impact those outside of these mentioned classes, who desire to help and want to improve the community they live in.
The communities in both stories were able to persevere through mutual help and care, but they were not by any means economically stable and let’s face it, as heartless as it may sound, our society around money. Inequality is a legacy that we have had to carry as a burden throughout our history and that we will continue to carry if we don’t learn from our past
Most people are ignorant to the fact that $200 can help a diseased two year- old become a healthy six year-old in a foreign country. In his article, The Singer Solution to World Poverty, Peter Singer speaks on how everyday Americans can help those in need. This article questions the morality of mankind through the use of several stories. In this article, Singer brings the moral conscious of mankind into question by examining the habits of everyday people; although strong, his stance is flawed.
Maria’s story gave me a new level of respect for homeless people everywhere. Her story changed my perspective. The question remains: Can story change the whole world? Well, we can start with a college. George Mason is one of the most diverse schools in the country, but how familiar are students with each other’s culture?

When people are born there are basic needs that everyone should be accessible to survive. People need to have food, water, clothes and shelter, all these basic needs should be readily available. “As the population rises, the world 's water usage will rise. Many areas of the world already suffer from a lack of fresh water,” (Population Control 3). If the world runs out of freshwater, humanity will plunge into chaos. Humanity needs water to survive, and that is a fact. Relationships between countries will be broken apart over disputes for water.
Stop Taking Clean Water for Granted Can you stop for a moment and think what would happen if we didn’t have water; clean water? It seems impossible, as we use water to drink, cook, clean, grow things, and for everything else in life. Unfortunately, because of the easy access to one of the most plentiful, and most valuable resources in the world, some people take water for granted. In contrast, other poor people live in places where the only easy way to get water is from a dirty irrigation ditch. Or their only source of water is backyard faucet shared by several homes.

Water can no longer continue to stay unprotected, it is simply too important. Today most countries have laws aimed at safeguarding water quality and controlling water abstractions (Groenfeldt, 2013). In 2010, a new human right to ‘safe water and sanitation’ was recognized by the United Nations and implemented effective immediately. Water not only feeds the human body, but also the earth. Without water, nothing can grow.
Water is the most important component found on the surface of the earth because it is source of life for living creatures. However, water pollution has become a global concern. Water pollution can have several forms from diverse sources. It is expected that there will be a lack of clean water in next few decades due to pollution. Nile river water in Egypt is the focus of attention of many studies due to many reasons.
