Introduction
Climate change is an ongoing problem that needs everyone’s attention in order to combat it and to adapt to it. Climate change has been defined as ‘a significant change in the climate that a region experiences’. (Ask about Ireland, 2014). Over the course of two hundred years, humans have impacted the Earth leaving its biosphere in a perilous state. There are many things that happen during climate change. The oceans are warming leaving the glaciers to melt, and overall the world’s natural state is disappearing. If that wasn’t enough, the population is constantly growing. ‘Human activity is causing irreversible harm to the climate system and environment’ so it should be up to each human to help to combat it and adapt to it. (Cao, 2008). It is imperative to act now against climate change, while we still can.

the rich countries should be responsible for the costs associated with combatting climate change. There have been many debates on this subject matter in the past. Some people have the opinion that all countries should be responsible to pay for the costs associated with climate change, but developed countries have been recognised as principally responsible for the levels of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere so it should be their responsibility to fund the fight against climate change. (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, 2014). Although developed countries are largely responsible, climate change can have disastrous consequences for any country so it should be a global problem as it is going to need global participation to solve. I will argue that many countries are setting agendas to prevent climate change so with these initiatives, countries should not be worried about the costs associated with the consequences of climate change as with these initiatives, the problem of climate change could be reduced drastically leaving the costs associated with combatting it
People may know about climate change and the drastic changes it is having on the environment, but what they may not be aware of is that another degree increase in the world’s average temperature will cause even bigger problems for people all over. Climate change is long term shifts in temperature and patterns in the weather. Greenhouse gasses, gasses that trap heat in the atmosphere causing it to warm up are at an all-time high due to humans and the amount of fossil fuels we use. The most crucial result of climate change is global health, but animal endangerment and the rise in sea levels are also very important effects.
Almost anyone who will read this essay has undoubtedly heard of the climate phenomenon Global warming. Global warming is a topic that gets discussed very often nowadays, most notably during political debate and discussion. Politicians use certain stances on global warming to appeal to voter’s emotions and logic in order to gain votes and support for their campaign, however climate change is nothing new, during the past several hundred thousand years the Earth has heated up and cooled down and even experienced so called “ice ages”, which is a period where glacial deposits located at the northern and southern hemispheres have grown due to dramatic global cool downs. Don’t be confused by climate terminology though, the global warming so widely
Annotated Bibliography: How Climate Change Is Affecting Our Planet Controversy statement: Climate change is been debated for over centuries now. People all around the world are taking action and reducing burning fossils to minimize the gasses in the atmosphere. Many people believe that climate change doesn't exists. But there are a lot of controversial topics that proves that climate change is real. In my opinion, climate change is slowly killing us and destroying our planet.
The Earth is melting, and people need to help. Climate change is a regular thing that happens on Earth, but recently, it has changed drastically. " Since 1880, Earth’s average temperature has increased by about 0.8 degrees Celsius. (BGE) This may not seem like much, but scientists are worried.
The book “The Weather Makers: The History and Future Impact of Climate Change” written by Tim Flanner pertains to predicting the global warming consequence on earth and species. In chapter 9, the unraveling world, the author talks about global warming and how it can have a long-lasting and far-reaching impact on our lives. He points out the substantial and rapid change of the climate and its connection with the effects of El Nino and La Nina are also uncovered. Climate change can be a major contributor as to where species live and how they interact. The changes can also be observed by the changing migration patterns of these species.
Climate change has been a problem in the world since the industrial revolution and has been denied by major corporations and the government for centuries. This is because most non-renewable resources are major industries (i.e. oil, electricity, water, etc.) and the world 's economy profits from these resources. The bulk of corporations prioritize their wealth over the condition of the Earth beneath them. Economic growth is important for the people, yes; it is how we develop as a society, but at what cost? The Earth takes the brunt of society 's success, and denying the inevitable will not stop it from occurring.
IMPACTS OF GLOBAL WARMING ON THE ENVIRONMENT SLINDILE.C MAZIBUKO 215011983 UNIVERSITY OF KWAZULU NATAL WESTVILLE CAMPUS DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA ABSTRACT One of the biggest problems facing the world today is global warming. It is evident that there is climate change around the world. In recent years, we have so many unusual hurricanes, typhoons, floods, droughts and earthquakes. Plants and animals that lived in the cold climates are now disappearing.
Thesis: I would like to tell you how important are to stop global warming and what steps should be taken to stop or at least minimize global warming. INTRODUCTION I. Attention-getting device: The sea levels would raise approximately 28feet if all the Ice on Greenland melted but did you know that the maximum point in Florida is 35 feet? Regrettably for most of us, the maximum points in Florida are way far to the north.
Climate Change is one of the most unsettling problems mankind faces today. It leaves an impact on every single living thing, on every continent, no matter the privilege. Long term investment must be used to change the world. People must do more than just change out their light bulbs for eco-friendly ones, or drive fuel efficient cars. A choice as simple as changing our diets could reduce a human’s carbon footprint by fifty percent.
Climate Change is something that we have caused because of our choices to burn fossil fuels, at some point we have to face the problems that we have created. The consequences of Climate Change are horrific and Climate Change could end our existence as a species, most people do take action against Climate Change except, The Government of the United States of America, refuses to accept the serious dangers of climate change and continues releasing propaganda on Climate Change, claiming its effects are minimal and that we are not causing it. Peculiar how almost every other government in the world thinks otherwise. The reasons we are heading in the wrong direction is because the actions of humans are causing Climate Change, and almost all scientists agree on this matter. Another reason is the that the government isn’t trustworthy in what they say about Climate Change, meaning what they say about Climate Change is wrong, and we should change our policy on Climate Change.
Climate change is the most rising issue of the modern world that is threatening our planet from the last few decades. In the simplest definition, the term climate change refers to the rising of the planet’s temperature, particularly an increase in the average atmospheric temperature. It should be noted that in the last few decades, many scientists and ecologists has discovered the Earth temperature is increasing at an alarming rate and has affected the planet in numerous of way. The constant change in the climate due to various causes is threatening the preservation of the Earth and its human life. It should be noted that the climate change is linked with several of the human activities that are further directed towards the global warming.
Perhaps less obvious but no less ominous a threat to the environment are the general increase in temperatures worldwide and the resulting climate changes. This phenomenon, known as global warming, could have serious negative effects on humans and all other living things on Earth. Global warming is a complex problem, and governments have had great difficulty deciding how to address it. Some people think that it is the work of the world where nothing we do can ether change it or anything we do will prevent it. While others say that the
Nowadays, climate change is the biggest concern for the world issue that each country need to find the solution and take action to address that issue. Because climate change causes health problems, so health care is also a big problem, big concern for everyone as well. I. Climate change Climate change pose a serious, immediate and global threat to human health and responsibility for taking action to address this threat rests with every person, every community, every leader and every government around the world. That's because global crisis need global response.
Climate change is an issue that is relevant in today 's world. There is a vast amount of evidence suggesting that climate change is real, and could potentially have a drastic impact on our planet if the necessary measures aren’t taken to stop and reverse its effects. Human decisions have led to global warming, and those choices are what will potentially harm not only us, but also our planet. One evidence for global warming can be seen in the significant change in the record of high and low temperatures on this planet “The number of record high temperatures have been increasing and the record of low temperatures have been decreasing since the 1950”(NASA). Regions that are already vulnerable to extreme temperatures can be further affected by a downward
The Impacts of Climate Change on Species This paper seeks to research the study of climate change and its effects on biodiversity. This will be done by first understanding what climate change is and what the different effects are. Once this is understood, it will be easier to apply this knowledge to the study of biodiversity and how species are affected. Real life examples of different species that are affected will be mentioned and explained. Climate change is a reoccurring issue in our world that has been observed and studied extensively.
