Monitoring and evaluation: Having a Code of Conduct does not necessarily ensure that it will be followed; hence regular monitoring is required to assess the effectiveness and adherence. The monitoring of the existing code of conduct is essential. The analysis of number of complaints received, resolved, corrective action taken etc. helps in evaluating the effectiveness of code of conduct. Further, depending on the requirements, periodic audits and surveys could also be conducted to evaluate the adherence to the policies and the overall attitude of the organization towards ethics.

In regards to the scenario of the patient Cindy who had an affair while being married, one of the red flags that I noticed was AACC Code 1-143 counseling with family, friends and acquaintances. According to the scenario, Cindy, as well as her family, attend the same church as the counselor, but also know the counselor very well. This was a breach in ethics on the counselor’s part, because in the AACC code, it states in Code 1-143, “Christian counselors do not provide counseling to close family or friends.” (Clinton, Ohlschlager, and Hart; pg. 269). The counselor has already broken the ethics code by giving Cindy counseling advice, which is part of the AACC code 1-145 (pg.269).
Policies and procedures give clear messages to staff about their responsibilities and roles. They set boundaries which they are expected to work within. It is very important to remember polices and procedures are set in place to make ensure the best possible practice is undertaken to provide the best care and learning environment for the children or young people.
This article on ethics was really interesting and a dilemma that is prevalent within criminal justice. In the article Dr. Steven Davis recognized that students cheating in high school increased by 20% in the 1940 to 75% today. Davis stated, "If students lack ethics in high school and college, then there should be little surprise that they lack ethics in their careers. (2008). " This observation by Davis holds some value, because individuals that is willing to cheat to get ahead, definitely has no problem crossing ethical lines, because in their mind the wrong is acceptable, just as it was when they cheated.
The seven core values of the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct are different kind of commitments that we have to follow in order to be in a field of any early childhood care and education. According to a confidential survey taken in 2002 of 12,000 students, 74 percent admitted to cheating on a test at least once in the last year. This is an appalling number. College students are in the mindset now, because so many people are doing it, that cheating is not wrong so they are doing it regularly. Are people even learning anything in college anymore, or are they just there to learn how to beat the system?
Cheating, plagiarizing, and taking credit for another’s work is usually frowned upon, but the honor code was created to prevent these acts from occurring. Honor codes are different from school to school and are commonly not followed. The honor system was created to convey that when you lie about accomplishing something yourself, you will be penalized for it. Honor code systems should be revised because of the lack of student involvement, the lack of confidentiality, and the burdensome consequences. To begin with, student involvement plays a huge role on campuses.

A person traveling through the many regions of Asia may encounter the many religions and the beliefs of each religion. South Asia includes the religions of Hinduism and Buddhism, and East Asia has the religions of Confucianism and Taoism. South and East Asia’s religions focus more on the life around a follower and the path he chooses to take. These religions are centered around acceptable behaviors in the religion.
