The Importance Of Community Life

Community life is the most significant aspect of consecrated life after spiritual direction. The community is where we, the sisters, do not choose each other, and we differ in many ways. Nevertheless, we are called together to fulfill aspects of consecrated life: prayer, denying ourselves, three vows, formation, service to others. The community is the place where individuals bring not only themselves with their views that are influenced by their families and local cultures, but also some deep pains of which they are not fully conscious aware. All things will be formed by the training program of the Order. Therefore, as a self-aware person belonging to a convent, each sister must think that the community is a place to love and be loved in order to be formed following the distinct characteristics of the Order.
Thanks to God! During twelve years of service in the four communities of my congregation, I have reaped life experiences under the care of God and the love of all the sisters in my congregation. The sisters are very sympathetic to me. I have tried my best to collaborate with the other sisters in order to fulfill the mission of my congregation and have been encouraged to grow in many dimensions. Moreover, I was also instructed and trained to be better day by day in my vocation.
