I have loved competition ever since a young age. I have several friends that I love to compete with. We compete every day, whether it is sports or if it in school games. We have been competing for as long as I can remember. Although my friends and I believe that competition is a great thing at school, some parents and schools are trying to argue that we should remove competition from school. They believe that kids can get hurt, but a child can get hurt just as likely to get hurt walking up the stairs as they are playing sports. Other people believe that a child’s self esteem is lowered when they lose. If a child doesn’t learn how to take loss then he or she will never be prepared in the real world. We have to allow these kids to compete with each other or they may never learn some necessary things in the real world. The three reasons I believe that competition is superb in school is because it allows children to work together as a team, it helps children stay active, and it causes kids strive to be better. There are several ways that competition gets children active. There are two main types of competition, physical competition and mental competition. Physical competition may based on how strong, fast, or even how balanced you, but there are several other things it can be based on. It causes kids get up and move around, which helps kids stay healthy and fit. There is also mental competition. Mental competition requires children to use their brains. This type of competition may require kids to think vigorously or think outside of the box. Mental competition is very common in the classroom. Teachers love to conceive classroom games. They divide you into even teams and you take turns answering questions. If the game is really close, then it can definitely get the adrenaline rushing.
