Computer-assisted learning (CAL) is an individualized method of self-study using the computer to deliver an educational activity. Computer-assisted learning involves the use of computers and modern computing technologies, embodied in both software and hardware devices, to enhance learning. It allows learners to proceed at their own pace with immediate and continuous feedback on their progress as a response to a software program. (Chuengkriankrai, Kaveevivitchai, Luecha Panijpan, Ruenwongsa, and Thanooruk, 2015). A study for undergraduates in health professions used computer-assisted learning to determine online learning’s omnipresence for a convenient and a cost-effective alternative of traditional demonstration (George et al., 2014). Findings revealed that students that were part of the online learning program reported the appraisal of how flexible and feeling of independence these students felt (Gazza & Hunker). The use of computer-assisted learning may accommodate the insights of the perspectives of nursing students. It is said, online learning does not suit the needs of all types of learners, but those who are visual and hands-on. (Bloomfield & Jones, …show more content…

In fact, today, the students are more and more surrounded by technology such as the internet, computers, tablets, cellphones and many more, so it is acceptable to expect that media techniques would be incorporated into e-learning modules (Violante & Vezzetti, 2013). As technology has been evolving throughout the years, computer-assisted learning is a stepping stone for being cost-effective and accessible. Thus, in a recent study by George et al. (2014), adapting computer-assisted learning may be very costly at first, but in the end it is said that it would be advantageous for obtaining the investments on the computer-assisted learning program in terms of health gains and lives that are saved. Nevertheless, this could be a stepping-stone for the researchers to be able to give a computer-assisted learning program that would dramatically increase the confidence and decrease the anxiety of student nurses regarding the improvement of their clinical
