Educators must ensure that the learners are not abused in any form this goes back to the fact of negligence in which the headmaster together with his or her colleagues failed to give enough care and attention to the learners hence one of them refuses to eat and struggles to sleep because of what she and others saw at the mortuary
The learners were not meant to be disciplined in this manner for it does not bring about corrective discipline which is the educator’s actions that are carried out to correct disruptive, anti-social or deviant behavior (Joubert and Prinsloo 2008:107).No person is to be in a cruel, inhuman or degrading way (Section 12(1)e Bill of Rights 108 of

Working within our school setting  we work in an open and transparent manor This includes ensuring , all doors have glass panels in or be left open so that we can be seen as we teach, this is set in place to discourage any false allegations of occurrences of abuse as it can be disproved and can also protect teachers them self from having abuse. By doing so we are allowing open teaching which can dissolve any accusations made by either students or staff. Listening to children-  All staff members to ensure they make time to listen to their pupils as it could raise concern regarding the child’s welfare as when a child is willing to speak and feels comfortable and safe enough to open up it is the staffs duty to ensure this child is listened to and taken seriously.
Any professional working with children or young people is responsible for the care and well being of those children. Making sure that a child is safe on or out of a school setting is of paramount importance. Not only does it make a child or young person feel safe in a learning environment but it also gives the child the security to develop and achieve from an early age. For children to be effectively protected, it is essential that everyone accepts the responsibility of their role and to also be protected in that role. E.g. when escorting a child to the toilet or a child needs to be undressed due to any accident, it is vital that another member of staff or child is present as to not allow any allegations of misconduct.
The children in a school are valued, with an environment that fully encourages and celebrates their learning and progression and how they are developing. The provision of a safe and secure learning environment for all its pupils should be provided through recognizing the importance of welcoming diversity and equal opportunities. The atmosphere within a school should be positive, with this being reflected in the attitudes of the staff and pupils, all caring for and taking pride in their surroundings and in how the learning journey of each pupil takes
Legislation is put in place to ensure that schools operate fairly and lawfully. Schools have rules and guidelines that they have to follow to ensure children and staff are kept safe in the working and learning environment. Children need to be protected from abuse and abusive material. Legislations are set in place to protect them and strict rules need to be followed. Security checks are done on all staff members working with children.

Schools must make the school environment one in which young people can learn and students are safe. School officials need to be enabled to enforce discipline and the upholding of the schools rules. Teachers and principals are acting for the parents of the students. Parents do not need a warrant to search their children. School officials are not the police.
If a child or young person alleges harm or abuse, it is important to be aware of the school procedures to be followed for reporting concerns about that particular child. Teacher should also know how to respond if a child discloses anything serious to them. • Listen carefully- If a child talks to me about a concern, or if the child tells me about their abuse I will listen carefully and compassionately to what they tell me. • Stay Calm-It is important to stay calm and not show any extreme reaction to what the child is saying.
” This is important because if the students are aware of the teacher’s possession then the risks of wrongdoing and mental disasters will definitely
Children will become more independent with their learning. There are children who misbehave for many different personal reasons. The strategic purpose of school governors is to support the school in many ways. This includes, making sure there is a clear vision, ethos and strategic direction within the school. They support the head teacher and hold them accountable for the educational performance of the school and its pupils. They will oversee the financial performance of the school and make sure its money is spent in the right areas. They will also carry out a number of other significant duties, which include the appointing and dismissing of staff, hearing appeals and grievances, forming policy on the school's curriculum, setting standards for pupils' behaviour and discipline and setting and monitoring the school's aims and policies.
Throughout this essay I will be explaining how a behaviour policy supports teachers and how it can also create an effective learning environment. I will also be highlighting any issues which could potentially arise from the use of a behaviour policy. A behaviour policy is guidance for members of staff within a school on how to deal with different behaviours, and sets out the expectations of behaviour for all children at the school. If a behaviour policy is written well it will support the formation of an effective learning environment. An effective learning environment for young children is an environment in which all children feel able to express themselves freely, allowing them to learn effectively.
Ethics according to my understanding is that division of philosophy which concerns with the moral principles that guide us in terms of our behaviour and way of doing things. Ethics simply helps a person in distinguishing between the right and wrong, good and bad, just and unjust, acceptable and unacceptable. It incorporates the ethical standards or the code of ethics guiding a person into the right path by instilling discipline and other virtues in our life’s daily activities. As professional teachers we endowed with dignity and reputation with high code of conduct while practicing the noble teaching profession which also requires us to follow set of ethical and moral principles, standards and values. Ethics in education concerns with the study of ethical standards or basic principles related rooted in the education system.
School and teachers can influence the extent and quality of learning for all students. Teacher’s beliefs, practices and attitudes are important for understanding and improving educational processes. They are closely linked to teachers’ strategies for coping with challenges in their daily professional life. Educators have control over numerous factors that influence motivation, achievement and behaviour of students. They are turning around their approach into a focus on creating positive school climate and responsive classroom as part of holistic quality education based on child rights where there is effective teaching and classroom management, thus enhancing students’ learning experiences.
As a teacher, it is my responsibility to share information on the development of the child and have a clear and constant flow of dialogue with the family. This will enable both parties to deal with any issues that may arise within the family, school or community. It also my belief that parents should have an active part in their child’s learning and be able to lend a hand whenever necessary, and having open communication with them will allow this transparency and connection between home and school. The community is vital in ensuring that the facilities around the community and school is appropriate for the different children and families to live in and grow. A very good example of this successful collaboration is the Reggio Emilia approach in Italy.
