Unlike motivation, which we are able to define with some precision, emotion is a much more difficult term to narrow down We all know what it's like to feel emotion. Emotion is love and hate, anger and fear, pride and jealousy. Its things we like to do yet it's also things we don't like to do (such as be angry or afraid). Emotions seem to rule our daily lives. All our decisions are based on how we feel, whether we are happy, angry, sad, bored, or frustrated. We choose actions and hobbies based on the emotions they stimulate. Since emotions are so very varied, some psychologists wonder whether they share enough in common to be called the same thing. Emotionality is associated with a range of psychological phenomena including temperament, personality, mood and motivation. According to author David. G. Meyers (2004), human emotion involves "...physiological arousal, expressive behaviours, and conscious experience." As per Hockenbury & Hockenbury (2007) "An emotion is a complex psychological state that involves three distinct components: a subjective experience, a physiological response, and a behavioural or expressive response."
