When people think of education, what usually comes to their minds would be schools. Schools have been a place where people acquire education. According to Oxford Dictionary of English, education is “a body of knowledge acquired while being educated”. The definition of education is anything that can be learned anywhere. However, schools do not teach creativity as much.
According to Oxford Dictionary of English, creativity is “the use of imagination or original ideas to create something”. The regular school system was created in order to provide basic knowledge which is why creativity is discouraged in the classroom, and logical subjects are often seen the primary goal that should be learned. Sir Kenneth Robinson, an international advisor

Most doctors and engineers that helped the well-being of people were the result of the regular school system. Aside from producing professionals, the regular school system has also taught pupils quickly in order to prepare them for their chosen industry.
The regular school system works, since it has produced professionals and most people today are part of this school system. However, the regular school system needs modern modification. The regular school system was first introduced in order to train factory workers, the regular school system has not changed that much since then. The regular school system should encourage art and modify the system in order to adjust to the 21st century technology. Schools that are practicing the regular school system can attempt to improve the creativity of a child through teaching and encouraging entrepreneurial skills and art.
Schools do not necessarily hate creativity, but it is not prioritizing the development of a child’s creativity. Schools today are quite different from the time schools first began. Schools today are longer and pupils spend more years in school today than one hundred fifty years ago. Schools should encourage their pupils to pursue art and be creative. Technology today has replaced jobs and even industries, industries such as plane ticket agencies. Art will never be replaced by machines, and that is why schools should encourage the artistic
High School System vs. Middle Ages Feudal System The high school system today correlates to the feudalistic system established in 1066 by William I, also known as William the Conqueror. The feudal system was created in the Middle Ages to bring order to land jurisdiction, military control, and labor. Though these various aspects of the system need to be separated, they also need to flow together to create a fully functional system. On the other hand, the public school system is vastly different, the same feudalistic model can still be evident in the public school system.
Traditional school versus Year round school The idea of year round school is starting to be more the topic of discussion. Many people are for the idea of year round education and many are against it. “If our country began on a year around schedule, it would have seemed bizarre to propose the summer- off schedule as a superior way to educate students” says Principle Hazel Colebank. Although some may feel year round school is great for bettering education, changing what’s considered normal could cause more harm than good.
Almost all children love to write funny stories or just express their imaginations with music or a paint brush. That’s why there are creative, talented students thinking they aren’t smart enough because everything they were best at in school wasn’t stigmatized or valued in any way. In the story “ Against Schools’’ by John Taylor Gatto. Gatto stated how students were bored and that boredom was the new modern day experience for a student.
Whether year-round schooling should be enforced in Florida schools has been a recent debate. Florida schools should not take part in year-round schooling schedules because it makes sports and jobs very hard to get too, also year-round schooling gives teachers insufficient time to prepare for the next school year. Even though year-round school gives students more breaks, there is no proof that it helps students academically. So traditional school is better and should stay in Florida.
Education has always been a top priority when it comes to the best ways to care for a child. Parents are always out there looking for the best types of schooling that would ensure their child’s future. The different types of schooling is divided into two sections which includes year-round schooling and the traditional three month summer school year. Although there are people who believe that schools with year-round calendars have higher suicide deaths as a result of the added stress, the year-round calendar should be enforced because the overall funding and cost for the trimester schools is less than the traditional school year as well as the school curriculum being able to creatively incorporate seasonal learning.
Sir Ken Robinson advocated for a change in the education system and societal perception as a result of the decreasing creativity in children. In order to accomplish this, Robinson relied primarily on anecdotal stories with little statistical data to support his claims. Even though this is the case, Robinson’s argument is mainly effective in conveying his claim. The anecdotal stories have the most impactful relation to his claim because they offer substantial connections to the audience. The qualitative evidence also makes Robinson’s claim seem prominent in
Why Have Arts in Schools? President Barack Obama once said, “The future belongs to young people with an education and the imagination to create.” In schools, one of the most overlooked and underfunded subjects are the arts. During the 1930s, art education was greatly supported in the U.S. However, as time progressed the focus of education shifted to more standardized tests, science, and math.
"Do School's Kill Creativity" "My contention is all kids have tremendous talents. And we squander them, pretty ruthlessly" (Robinson, 02:57). Ken Robinson addresses the thought that creativity is just as important as literacy is in our schools and education. In his TEDtalk, the speaker Ken Robinson different ways in which we could change the way literacy is seen as more important than creativity and then make them equal. Robinson uses lots of different examples and stories to help convince his audience and help them understand the issues at hand.
Albert Einstein once said, "Everybody is a genius... But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid". Unfortunately, most school systems depict this quote. They judge a significant amount of the population by their ability to answer a few questions. They rate them with letters and numbers, and force students to be represented by these letters and numbers for the rest of their lives.
Why the school system is bad - Arshia Education is very important for everyone and it will only get more important. Schooling is just plain bad. It used to serve a purpose, like the heart in a person 's body, but now it is basically just boring students more and more. Nowadays at the end of the day, we all just want to go home.
So, this what i find in USA's education. In fact, the education in USA has a lot of beneficial system that attract me such as it contributes to increase in production, as boys and girls are taught to respect for productive work and the belief that they can rise in economic standing through work, effort and the desire to go where opportunities exist. USA public schools apply the best quality models in education and are role models in all educational systems in the world. I am talking here about primary and secondary schools. For example, the views about my children in USA’s school and their way of assimilation of information quickly, however they are not perfect for the English language, but that did not prevent them from understanding easily.
So, must of them must help you to encourage your creativity. And not only in specific areas, I personally don 't think schools are doing enough to encourage the students creativity. There are many more arts and subjects schools should use to encourage creativity. Including physical subjects, like PE. And those results should improve in our society.
First, “Education” is defined as “The process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, especially at a school or university” by Oxford dictionary (Oxford dictionary). More specific, in a work of John Dewey, an influential American philosopher, psychologist, and educational reformer, education is explained as: The process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits. Educational methods include storytelling, discussion, teaching, training, and directed research. Education frequently takes place under the guidance of educators, but learners may also educate themselves.
Modern day schooling forces students to fit a mold only a select few can fill by creating too much structure and having an overbearing emphasis on math and science, when other, less structured extracurricular activities can promote respect, discipline, and teamwork. Most would agree that, in early stages of life, art is a detrimental and necessary part of any child’s early development and education. In fact, Pre-K through third grade’s education curriculum is usually centered around promoting early creativity and a fondness for learning. Kids learn math by counting colorful pieces of bricks. They learn both science and the basic principles of functionality by playing with train sets and toy cars.
