Diversity is defined as people coming from different races, cultures, nationalities or gender to form a group, organization or community. Diversity is view as a good thing because it gives people an opportunity to learn and experience different things from what they normally accustomed to. However, diversity is a tricky thing to handle as it has its own pros and cons on politics, economic and social. Diversity can help to bring benefits if we dig deep to figure out how to nurtured and cherished the harmony within the diversity as the saying goes get your head around it. For example, as we know, Malaysia is one of the sovereign, peaceful and harmony country. Although Malaysia has multi-race society such as Malays, Chinese, Indians, Iban, Kadazans and others, we are able to foster our unity and work together as a community. Governments have tried to achieve harmony between our diversity by launching campaigns, programme such as 1 Malaysia and talks. There are many importance that we can get when the harmony within diversity is nurtured and cherished.

If there is no diversity than life will be so boring. Not everyone in a family has the same likes and dislikes; everyone is unique either by behavior or lifestyle or thoughts.
As stated in the previous chapter connection, there are many challenges that stand in the way of urban education. The main issue discussed in chapter 10 of the book “Affirming Diversity: The Sociopolitical Context of Multicultural Education” by Sonia Nieto and Patty Bode, was the issue of bilingual programs never having enough support by schools. In addition “bilingual teachers have been segregated programmatically and physically from other staff members, making both teachers and students feel isolated from the community (p.380)”. This issue has always been highly debated because while some people believe bilingual programs work, others believe the opposite. By embracing diversity, we are able to push past our preconceived notions and challenge the status quo. We can create a culture of understanding and respect for all individuals, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or other differences. Inclusivity allows us to see beyond our own experiences and gain new insights from those who are different from us. This helps us become better problem solvers, innovators and collaborators in whatever field we choose to pursue.
Diversity means understanding that every individual is unique and recognizing our individual differences. These can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies. Understanding that diversity includes not only ways of being but also ways of knowing. For example, at work, I have to interact with co-workers of different genders, age groups, faiths and so on.

The government of a nation state should provide for its people in the best possible way. When there is diversity in a nation state, there is bound to be disagreements, since different groups of people will have different opinions with others, which may escalate into conflict. Our country, Malaysia is a small, tropical country that lies within South-East Asia. Although it is small, it has a number of things to boast about.
