Education and schooling are a huge part of everyone 's life. From preschool to graduation is fourteen years, that is a lot of time dedicated to school. For some, they choose to further their education by attending a college for their choice of career. Throughout these many years of school, keeping good grades is vital to most students. One 's grade in school is a combination of classwork and exams. Tests are highly important when wanting to pass a class; they can either make your grade or break it. In order to ace a big test, one must (1) stay focused, (2) find a way of studying most helpful to them, and (3) get a good night 's rest the night before.
The first, most crucial, step when studying is to be focused and to stay focused. Having a noise free location to allow the mind to focus is vital. Eventually, the big test day will arrive, and one must be ready to concur. The first step has already been taken (getting focused), along with the second step (effective studying), and now the time has come for the last and final step. In Kurt Wiesenfeld’s article “Making the Grade”, he address the issue that students want a higher grade than they deserve. He goes on to prove this be by giving examples of previous students that he has had and what can happen when students get the grades that they want and not what they deserve. In Wiesenfeld’s article he states that about ten percent of students that take his class do not care about their grades until final grades are over. “You might groan and moan, but you accepted it as the outcome of your efforts or lack thereof,” Wiesenfeld stated.

I am my biggest criticizer so when my grades start to drop, so does my confidence and sanity. Against my will I motivate myself to sit straight for as many hours I need whether that is 1 or 5, to write formulas or essays or reports and get ahead of the load of work because I do not have enough time during the week.
