In the world today we are facing many different challenges and obstacles. One that stands out to me is the way our school systems are being run and operated. Also they way our students are learning and being taught. This problem is causing students to become very overwhelmed with the things that they are doing in schools and sometimes when these students are learning they are not fully understanding what is being taught and that 's because every person has a very different mind and way of thinking and processing things. But when all students are being taught the same thing there not all going to understand. I feel we need to try to individualize and specialize how these students are being taught. That way students aren 't saying to themselves “how come they understand but its not making any sense to me?” or “I am not fully understanding how to do this at all.” I can say personally that I have seen some schools taking action on this issue but not enough. This year in english we learned about a school that lets there students teach themselves. Sounds a little crazy doesn 't it? But in my opinion it’s a really great idea. Students got to pick a questions each week and had to research it. It made these students work harder because they were actually interested in …show more content…
I feel that schools have not changed much over all these years while many things have evolved and grew. If you think back at how much cars, cellphones, and many more things have made changes its pretty crazy the changes that are being made to these kind of things but when then when you think back to school its been the same for a very long time. we are updating things and changing the way things are being done for a lot of other things in the world today and I have a hope we can start doing the same for schooling and we can improve the way our students have been
In Gerald Graff’s article “Hidden Intellectualism,” from the 2003 copy of They Say I Say, the author explores the idea of what true intellectualism is by recalling pieces of his childhood. The way schools and society view intellectualism comes in to questions as being one sided or false altogether . There remain several sides to the argument regarding education and include anything regarding what should be taught, how it should be taught, and what marks the mastering of a subject. With true education as well as the proper way to teach being a heavily debated topic of controversy, the question of the right way to teach is heavily sought after. Public education has always been a topic of intense controversy in the United States since its early founding years.
Although on paper our schools seem to meet the needs of everyone, the U.S. school is nowhere near perfect, and reforms and actions need to continue to be implemented.
I think the students should learn the core knowledge partly on their own. The reason being is that there are technologies those days that can give you any information that you ask for. I think that students know a lot more than what we
Unfortunately, everything is based on money now days, the more money a school has, the better their technological equipment is, they can buy new books for every student, or even their school programs are better. I know this because I went to a high
Our educational system is failing us. The United States of America is supposed to be the “greatest” country in the world but statistics are showing that our government/educational system is failing us; children/young adults of the nation. Being a student of a middle ranked school in Arizona, I personally have had a first-hand feel for how good and/or bad teaching affects students. Just in high school I have had teachers that would just assign websites as our lesson and even teachers that sit at their desk for the whole hour; don’t even go over the mindset, homework, and maybe only show one problem so that we’ll know what the homework will be like. Until sophomore year I didn’t even know the differences between you’re, your, too, and to.
The diversity of student backgrounds, abilities and learning styles makes each person unique in the way he or she reacts to information. The intersection of diverse student backgrounds and active learning needs a comfortable, positive environment in which to take root. Dr. King continues by explaining, “Education which stops with efficiency may prove the greatest menace to society. The most dangerous criminal may be the man gifted with reason, but with no morals.” From back then to today’s society, kids are failing because they lack those morals that they need to succeed.
Now, the budget just does not exist for every school to receive improvements. Taking care of the schools, and making them a clean place will make them more
Everyone has ineffable difficulties in their mind. When we were children, most children learned the same things at school. But, why are their lives going in different directions? Children grow up in different families that have different family values. Students not only just study in schools, but also they learn
Everyone involved in our life has helped raise and teach us about almost everything as they all played a role in our lives. But how exactly did they play a role in our lives? In my opinion, they educated us on things that our time in school did not. In school, they teach us the same four subjects each year: English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. However, they are not teaching us things that we would have to learn from experience later in our lives.
There is a third reason which is the Most important reason, is to get a great picture of the cultural diversity of the United States of America. Knowledge of others, their cultures, their sciences and way of life, is useful for learning about a new culture. Some cultures have good qualities and bad recipes, or perhaps do not fit the nature of our lives. For example, my presence in America has made me learn a lot of American cultures that if I find them in my country and may be useful to me or in raising my children such as opening the door to the person walks behind me, honestly I like this behavior which I miss this in my country. In general, the idea of quoting the culture that suits our societies may help us to develop from the reality of our lives.

Declared in The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UN, 1948), education is recognized as a fundamental human right and a key component contributing to the development of societies. Yet there are many people on earth have not been able to get educated. In order to solve the problem, it is proposed that all education (including primary, secondary and higher education) should be free all over world and governments should be those funding the tuition fees. This paper critically hightlights the significances and also rebut the objection of free education. Before further analysis, the writer is going to point out some definitions and add facts and figures.
Ethics according to my understanding is that division of philosophy which concerns with the moral principles that guide us in terms of our behaviour and way of doing things. Ethics simply helps a person in distinguishing between the right and wrong, good and bad, just and unjust, acceptable and unacceptable. It incorporates the ethical standards or the code of ethics guiding a person into the right path by instilling discipline and other virtues in our life’s daily activities. As professional teachers we endowed with dignity and reputation with high code of conduct while practicing the noble teaching profession which also requires us to follow set of ethical and moral principles, standards and values. Ethics in education concerns with the study of ethical standards or basic principles related rooted in the education system.
Teaching philosophy is described by Sadker and Sadker as, “Behind every school and every teacher is a set of related beliefs - a philosophy of education – that influences what and how students are taught. A philosophy of education represents answers to questions about the purpose of schooling, a teacher’s role and what should be taught and by what methods.” (Teacher, Schools and Society. 2005). With this definition in consideration, my teaching philosophy is “I believe that children learn best when they are given the chance to choose, discuss and explore what they want to learn, when they want to learn and how they want to learn.
Education is a huge issue that not only affects kids and their parents, but their community as well. Schools teach young kids to become the next generation of engineers, technicians, and political leaders, working towards creating a better future for their country and their community. Teachers have the unique job of creating the future leaders of the world, and preparing them for both college and life beyond, by putting a special push towards math and science, the so-called “foundation” of our society. The hard truth is, no one can be anything they want to be. Some people are simply not cut out to be engineers, doctors, or psychologists.
