INTRODUCTION Today we all know the necessity of physical activity. Physical education and sports has a very prominent role in modern society to be physically active. It is important to an individual, a group, a nation – Indeed the world to involve in physical activities, and stay healthy. Like every education, physical education too bears an ancient history. It´s sources exhibits nature of man prevailing economic, industrial, religious and cultural conditions of all the people.
For many people education is important to get the better future jobs, for others is necessary to become quality citizen and for few an educated person is someone who is capable to perceive accurately, thinks clearly and acts effectively on given tasks or self selected goals. An education can be defined as acquiring facts, knowledge, skills obtained or developed by a learning process either formally or informally that has a great impact on individual’s life in his future. In short the education is the process of giving and receiving the systematic instructions through any mode of communication. The criteria to educate the people of the country may vary from nation to nation. As in the traditional education system of India there were very few educational institutes and most of them are from the particular religion and of metaphysics.
It could not be denied that teachers play a vital role in the educational setting and constitute the most important resources of the educational system. According to Otolube (2006), teachers’ aspiration for advancement, growth, increased sense of responsibility and work are the motivating factors that drive teachers’ development in the domain of effective teaching. Teachers, especially the generalist in the elementary, are expected to be globally competent, committed and dedicated to nurturing young minds into the best ability they can so as to meet the needs of the pupils and students for the 21st Century. Education, its importance in people's lives An Introduction to human culture and values of the human society, knowledge about the world is accumulated by previous generations, starting with education. Educations are based on the receipt of systematized knowledge, learn skills and are aimed at the development of personality. It includes not only training, but also the education of man, his moral and civil qualities. Education is the basis of a common human culture and society, an important indicator of social progress. Through education the country receives skilled workers, conscious and active citizens.
Thus the whole domain of education is centered on the development of the moral aspect of man. The central purpose of education is to build character. Life-centered ethics have to be dealt with, to develop the will, to live a good life, to keep away from evil, to develop a spirit of sacrifice and an attitude of consideration for others. Education plays vital role in making people aware of value of environment. Positive attitude needs to be inculcated from early age through parents, family and teachers.
As Nelson Mandela says, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Education is an investment and becomes a fundamental to nation-building and unity, not only for the Malaysia, but also in other countries around the world. In line with the Malaysian Education, Philosophy, it is a challenge for us preparing Malaysia’s students for the needs of the 21st century to produce individuals who are “intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically balanced and harmonious, based on a firm belief in and devotion to God.” In terms of learning, it is an active process that must involve students’ engagement. Integrated teaching and learning is essential for a dynamic and holistic interaction between the lecturers and students. Therefore, in my faculty, health and sciences, especially, we incorporated active engagement, attainment to students, shared, sustained conversations and intentional teaching. A recent study done by Shah and Uresh, (2016) revealed that an integrated approached is the best and significant process compared to isolated learning, for students in universities.
Education Opens Horizons Insight Into Better Lives Education is knowledge learning, skills, and custom group of people passed down from one generation to the next through teaching, training, or research. Education is a process to awareness to change someone’s paradigm to be better. Besides, education also opens horizons to progress for everyone who involves inthe education itself. Among all weapons, education is the most powerful weapon that we can use to change the world (Nelson Mandela). I personally have faith in this statement because it is in line with the vision and mission in the Constitution of Indonesia to establish a stronger nation with future generation, education serves as the vessel to critical thinking of the agents of change
