Simulation is the imitation of the operation of a real-world process or system.The act of simulating something first requires that a model be developed; this model represents the key characteristics, behaviors and functions of the selected physical or abstract system or process. The model represents the system itself, whereas the simulation represents the operation of the system over time. Simulations have the potential to engage students in "deep learning" that empowers understanding as opposed to "surface learning" that requires only memorization. Computer simulations represent the real world by use of a computer program. Simulations can be a valuable tool in the science classroom. They can exemplify scientific concepts and situations thereby allowing students to explore the nature of things. Issues such as cost, safety, scope, time and scale can be overcome by the use of a scientific simulation. Computer simulations help visual learners understand problems that they would not thoroughly understand simply through reading about them or solving word problems. Guided Practice PERFORMANCE TASK(S): The students are expected to learn the Commutative and Associative properties of addition and subtraction during this unit. This unit would be the beginning of the students being able to use both properties up to the number fact of 20. The teacher would model the expectations and the way the work is to be completed through various examples on the interactive whiteboard. Students would be introduced to the properties, be provided of their definitions, and then be walked through a step by step process of how equations are done using the properties.

Simulated violent, role playing games are a delightful way to have fun. It is true that violent concept of these games may lead some to believe that they teach kids that being potent is okay, when in reality it is not acceptable to be violent. While that has some truth behind it, it also teaches kids valuable lessons of teamwork and sportsmanship. Along with the previous lessons the games are a source tactical skills like planning, compelling them to be aware of their surroundings, and it implies the message to kids that the outside world isn’t always safe or what they expect it to be. These types of games bring the community together and are a diverting activity for adolescents to be participating in.
My game is based on the story Hop on Pop by Dr.Seuss because the objects that are to be match are from the story. Also, the completing of the image of Pop being hopped on. It 's suitable for young children because it 's colourful, big, and easy to play. What makes it fun is the work together to solve the puzzle. The age level of this activity is 3-5 years.

A way to encourage scientific enquiry in the classroom is through the use of practical investigations. In the context of thinking and working scientifically, investigations are activities where children can use their conceptual understanding and knowledge of science to find solutions to problems and questions (Skamp, 2012). Supported by Ward et al. (2006) who say that the term investigation is used for activities requiring children to make choices about what to change and measure. Instances where science lessons are practical and focus on the development skills linked with scientific enquiry and where emphasis was placed on the children carrying out investigations independently, were the most beneficial (Ofsted 2010).
Small calculations of addition and subtraction are involved in such games. Children, who play such games, will eventually become master in doing small calculations. Children are not good at small calculations even. Many parents are not even aware of this; when they will play such board games with their children, they may come to know about this. On children end, they will get to do small calculations with interest and result will be their improved small calculations skills.
PCELL: Let me give you a little bit of background on the project, and particularly why I am here at Tri-C. I don’t know how familiar you are with some changes in developmental and first year undergraduate mathematics. It used to be that everyone took courses that were kind of on a calculus track, even though they were never going to take calculous unless that fit unto their major. So, they took classes like college algebra, finite math and trig, just because we have been teaching them for decades.

They make life easier in a way – they help us in understanding concepts that can be related to all the parts in our lives. The good thing with models is that they can provide a very clear explanation of a certain concept, because they leave out the things that might make the explanation more complex. This gives us general rules that are widely used.
