What is engineering?
The application of mathematical and scientific principles for practical uses such as the designing, manufacturing , and usage of products and processes is known as Engineering , while accounting for constraints invoked by economics, the sociological factors and environment like economical development, improving standards of living and well-being of a society, and cultural development and environmental concern are deeply dependant on engineering activities. Engineering is continually emerging as a much valued profession and engineering education changes according to time.

To say in other ways, engineering sustainability seems very much complex and involved. To say according to the definition of the Rosen, engineering sustainability involves the provision of engineering services in a sustainable way, which in turn requires that engineering services be provided for all people now and also in the future, are very much enough to provide basic necessities, affordable, not detrimental Sustainability to the environment, and also acceptable to communities and people. Even if this definition has some different circular aspects, those aspects emphasize few of the very important points of the concept engineering sustainability. A universally agreed definition for the concept of engineering sustainability has not yet been achieved internationally. Sustainability factors are mostly considered to have three main components which are environmental sustainability, economical sustainability and social sustainability. We are about to consider the following principles that are considered in production. Production using non toxic, non hazardous, sustainably produced or recycled materials as much as feasible to have a lower impact even much less than traditional materials is a government policy now. Building long lasting and better functioning products to reduce the need of replacements often and reduce need of producing replacements. Designing products in order to reuse and recycle and make them easy to disassemble, so that the parts can be reused to make new products. And now considering product life cycle analysis tools to produce more sustainable products is an important thing. All above are application of sustainable principle in production, Next we shall see the processing section which plays a very important role in sustainable engineering, how sustainable principles are applied in manufacturing processes, and produce more energy efficient products much more than that of traditional products. Products and services are yielded by using resources in engineering process and operations. Engineering process mainly includes the steps they involve, technology that has been used and the energy materials they utilize.
