On the other hand, extroverts thrive in crowds. They have an active social life because they like to interact with people of all types, and get restless or bored in a quiet environment. They are assertive and have no problem with getting into confrontations to push their opinions. They love to be the center of attention, and go to great lengths to gain recognition from their peers. Extroverts often make impulsive decisions, and can react quickly in a crisis (Christensen). However, it is important to understand that people are not a complete introvert or extrovert. They can have certain tendencies that make them lean more towards one or the other. The trick is to recognize what motivates an individual, and that requires some effort (Christensen). REACHING FULL POTENTIAL The modern work environment tends to focus on extroverts, while ignoring introverts. Extroverts are honored and perceived as strong leaders who are active, engaged, gregarious and assertive (Steelcase Inc). However, for the success of teams, it is important to unlock the full potential of each team member. Clara Barton will be the main focus of this assignment as she was a remarkable woman who started off as an educator and then a clerk and then a nurse and then one of the founders of Red Cross in America. In a time when women were not educated and were not even offered jobs she worked side by side with men. She was from the Not for Profit Sector. Her field was Nursing and she tackled with providing healthcare to those in natural disasters or war.
As a result, extroverts are more sensitive to rewards. When performing certain tasks, extroverts are better at handling multiple tasks whereas introverts sometimes becoming overwhelemd with large amounts of information - nevertheless, introverts are more likely to work harder on a problem they don 't understand unlike extroverts who give up quicker. This is because introverts and extroverts face a task differently. Introverts understand that rewards aren 't everything - instead, you have to look outside the immediate rewards and look for your flow - something you care about.
Extroverts will likely recognize the behavior described in their friends and family, and be reminded that while extroversion certainly has much to offer, so does introversion. Being an Extroverted, Sensing, Feeling, and intuition means many things, most of which describe me well. Since I am an Extroverted, Sensing, Feeling, and intuition, I am a conscientious helper, and sensitive to other people 's needs. I also value loyalty and tradition and make my family and friends a top priority. I should value others feeling and always think about others first. Some more traits I have are that I am the good thinker, I always try to be logical and punctual, I am energized by social activities, and need others approval before I make decisions.
Extroverts can be some of the best people you meet. They have plenty to offer and thrive at the attention of others. However, being introverted can be just as great. In a society where being extroverted is the ideal, it can be very difficult to be an introvert. Susan Cain argues in her Ted Talk, “The Power of Introverts”, that introverts can share many brilliant ideas with the world and should be encouraged and celebrated for who they are.

Every individual goes through different experiences that mold them into who they are. The combination of their genetic makeup, the environment in which an individual is exposed to, peers, culture, and many other factors determine who they are as an individual (Twenge & Campbell, 2016). This is also what is considered to be an individual’s personality. It is the greatest influence on how an individual will react in any given situation; not everyone will react the same in any situation. Personality is the recurring patterns of thoughts, behaviors, and feelings that can be seen across all situations and time (Twenge & Campbell, 2016, p. 6).

Yet when they are judged by people it is because of the observations those people have had which lead them to judge someone in a certain way. Outsiders are simply misunderstood. It is impossible for outsiders to be misjudged because they are clearly judged by people already who just don’t understand them. Most if not all people have felt some sort of exclusion at some point in their lives. These experiences can either lead us to be more of an extrovert or more of an introvert.
Extraverting and Introverting relates to how individuals energize themselves. (Baron, 1998). Extroverts enjoy small group interaction where they can talk their thoughts and ideas out. These types of activities help them concentrate and be more engaged. (Lawrence, 1997).
From the different personality tests that I have taken in the past, I know that I am an introvert. So, the score of 20 I thought was too high, but from the book it says that an extravert is sociable, fun-loving, and affectionate. I am these things but just around the people I feel comfortable around, such as family and close friends. This is most evident in church because that is where most of my family and close friends gather. I am comfortable around them, and I also try to get out of my comfort zone once in a while.
