Gender equality is a topic in which people have been worrying and working about in this past few years. However, Gender equality in Mexico has a really long way to go, due to the stereotypes that people has been taught through generations and the different expectations that they have for the different genders. Unfortunately, even though there has been improvement discrimination to genders still exist in our society. The inferiority of the female gender and the superiority of the male gender causes the known “gender order”. Even though, every society has their own order based on their economy, religion, morals and ethics, and many other factors, most of the society have been organized by the gender order. In Chiapas and Tabasco women participation in the economy, it is relatively low compared to the national average, 30.8 % and 34.5 %, respectively. In Chiapas, the gap compared to the male population, it is very low, since that entity has one of the highest rates of male economic participation at the national level 83.6 %. Income is one of the areas where there is more gender inequality in the labor. The main reasons for these differences are that a considerable proportion of women work without payment; women have less time available for work due to the domestic work of the households that consume much of their time. This is because it is distributed unevenly with men; and the fact that there is wage discrimination based on gender for the same work. Now a day, 10.4% of women that work they do it without receiving a payment for their job, in the other hand, there are only 5% of men in this situation.
