Many people are still unable to receive an education. But coming to America made me receive a higher level of education because many opportunities were ahead of me since everyone is given equal opportunities in America. Although, it was hard but I believe that I can write better if I compared my old essay to news. The happiness of passing the IELTS exam, I have never forgotten this memory. First of all, exigence means that a need, a gap something like that so exigence is a reason why we write and what it triggers in our writing. The exigence includes my education life.
After taking finals, I checked my GPA with Ms. Tingle. We were so surprised because I got a very high grade – a 3.9 GPA. She patted my shoulder and said to me with a smile, “I knew you could do it.” Through my school years in the United States, not only was I able to speak better English, but I also gained much confidence, thanks to Ms. Tingle. Even though I studied English before moving to the United States, the new environment made me feel small, making me lose my confidence in learning new things. Now, I am not afraid to face challenges that will come forth.
I would not say writing English assignment is very hard for me, but I mean I make some mistakes. We wrote four paper assignments this quarter, two of them about the story we read in class, one from a story and outside material and one about English 101 class at itself which is this paper. We must submit the rough draft before the due date of the assignment, which helps us to have clarification from our instructor and from a classmate. I am always improving after each paper I wrote, because I follow up with the comment I received, edit my paper then make an appointment with my instructor before I submit my final draft. These comments make me feel confident in the next paper.

The English 1300 class has helped me to improve and develop my writing skills in several ways. Primarily this class has helped to reduce the stresses that I have always felt when a report or essay was asked for. Contributing and being involved in this class will have substantial influence in future English classes and all classes no matter what the subject. I have discovered that my previous classes in High School served only as minimal effort and upon entering college the rules have been amplified and are crucial to a timely completion of your classes and ultimately college. Feedback was critical and valued.
In my four years of high school I have taken advanced, honors, and two years of advanced placement English courses. High school has so far prepared me to write fluently and effectively, it has also primarily prepared me for the kind of writing that was required of me in this course. College-level writing is important to me because it has allowed me the chance to further my writing skills and knowledge of different genres of essays. Just this course alone has already taken my writing ability way beyond what I have accomplished at a high school level. College-level writing courses are important because they will teach me how to better convey thoughts, ideas, and facts in simple and clear language.

During her visit to Whitman, Alexandra made comparisons between her high school years and the high school years of the upperclassmen observed. She noticed the variety of differences between them because during her years there was not much palpable competition but now there was between the students at Whitman. The competition of getting the best grades was a huge deal to the students because their grades were a factor to getting admitted to the college of their choice. Pete a junior student at Whitman, was one of the many overachievers who put in the effort to get the best grades he could even if it meant to risk his own health. Pete was a straight A student who one night took so much caffeine to complete a paper that was due the next day.
Not So Fast” Andrea Lunsford researched students’ writing for 30-plus years to see what effect new technology has on how students learn. Lunsford discovered that students are actually improving their own writing skills with the help of mass media. Not only does it allow students more access to educational resources and information, but it also encourages students to do more creative thinking and writing outside of class which Lunsford refers to in her article as “life writing.” In her research she recalls the account of a student who sent a friend a text message which was completely informal and would be considered unprofessional by most piers. However, the same student also sent a very formal and professional report to her faculty adviser later on. The reason Lunsford includes this account of events is because it proves that while mass media might seem like its dumbing down the younger generation it is actually teaching them different kinds of writing and when to use different contexts.
College applicants with proficient scoring in testing and in advanced courses tend to have higher chances of getting accepted. Many students work hard to obtain the best test scores and achieve “Straight A’s” in order to have a better chance of attending their dream college. Schools and parents often encourage children from a young age to perform their best and challenge themselves. Often the students who strive for excellence live their dream of

For example, the ALP was tough at first but during all the journals, the freewrites, and the essays were really were not so bad and they were easier because I paid attention to my professor on writing better and to make my emotions on paper,. To summarize how Brookdale was a good choice for me was I met good people, the courses, less money to spend, has a great hands on learning experience, and getting good grades. For all the new students in the ALP, learn and enjoy being in that program because that program really helped me learn two English courses in one semester so that
During "Waves of Change" I learned how to revise my work, more importantly, that uncertainty during the writing process is normal, and revise my thinking. Writing scared me in high school. The idea of writing a 10 page research paper, or a 6 page opinion essay terrified me. My fear of writing was created by the success I achieved in other subjects in school. Throughout my adolescence, I became accustomed to
