Our world today is divided in various ways. No matter if it is region, race or poverty that
divided us, there is still a huge distinction between people that came from a different
background. Humans naturally repel beings that contradict to our values and what we
believe in, this results in conflict and the creation of stereotype throughout the
development of human race. Our society today is becoming more globalized, and
countries can no longer be defined by race and the language people speak. However,
there is still a distinct difference between people that cannot be removed, for example, the
appearance of different race, tradition, and culture, and most importantly, the way we think.

It is fair to say that, Eastern languages are more emotional and flexible and
Western languages, especially English, are more rational and practical. A language is a
tool that allows people to express their thinking using a unified system, as our thinking is
expressed through the same system, we often tend to notice the same thing. This proves
that human does not only think through their culture but also through languages.
Although culture has a huge influence on people’s thinking, but it is not the only tool
human use to understand the world around us, there is another tool that everyone born to
have, which is, our own imagination. Most of the time, the facts and theory that helped us

understand the word do not have a solid prove that determines its true, some of the facts
are even made up just to help us understand the world a little easier. One example is
supernatural beings that cannot be proven but people believe it anyway, people believe in
aliens because they think it would just be impossible that in the whole of the universe the
Earth is the only planet with living beings. Although we cannot prove this, we use what we
believe we know to develop a theory, and the creation of such theory went through
In the planet, there are different kinds of people who have been co-existing together over the years. The settlement of people in the world is such that different people who come from one tribe tend to settle in a given region where they live together peacefully and carry on with their daily day-to-day activities to improve their livelihoods. However, people from different parts of the world develop some differences between them that result in conflicts among them in some instances. Conflicts can be at different levels such as community conflicts, national conflicts regional conflicts or even global conflicts. The effects of conflicts among people are usually felt by each and every person in the community, and they are usually
People even currently separate themselves from people of other cultures or viewpoints. This is not only harmful to you but many others. We as a species should not separate each other
Firstly, the opinion of one person can make up the opinion of another person. Humans naturally follow a leader, so one person’s choice can
This division has continued to play an important part in the social-political atmosphere in the country. Here, it is worth noting that the “black-white binary” is not necessarily used to differentiate those who are “black,” or African Americans, with those who are generally considered “white,” such as Caucasians, but rather to group people of different ethnicities. In this case, even individuals who are Asian (such as Chinese) or Latino (such as Mexicans) can be grouped as “black.” Here, Alcoff noted that while Chinese Americans were classified as white in 1860, but the children of both Chinese and non-Chinese parents were being classified as either black or white in 1900 despite the fact that they were classified as Chinese before.
“When human lives are endangered, when human dignity is in jeopardy, national borders and sensitivities become irrelevant. Wherever men or women are persecuted because of their race, religion, or political views, that place must-at the moment- become the center of the universe,” this was Elie Wiesel’s, nobel prize winner, quote. People have different points of views on other people, to be more specific on people on other races and religion. Some individuals have the mentality that there’s always a superior race. My opinion is that there is equality among every person in the world.
Like in the BLM protests it divided whites and Blacks because of the violence that happened from all protests that happened with it. Another one is Asian hate and that basically divides all of America up into its own groups. Too much happens and the more that does, the more we divide and the further we get from
In the article People Like Us, the author, David Brooks, argues that while the United States is a diverse nation as a whole in terms of racial integration, but block by block, community by community, and institution by institution, the united states is a rather a homogenous nation. People separate themselves to be around the ones they feel most comfortable with, be it by race, religion, social status, gender, and even sexuality. Instead of everyone in our nation coming together to be unified and diverse, “people make strenuous efforts to group themselves with people who are basically like themselves” (62). In the article, Brooks says, “But as neighborhoods age, they develop personalities (that’s where the Asians live, and that’s where
I agree with Walter Williams on the importance of this issue when he writes, “Regardless of their chosen strategy, one can safely predict that they will organize themselves on the basis of that "less-preferred" characteristic, whether it is race, religion, language or region. It is precisely this form of human organization that has given rise to history's most brutal and tragic episodes.” Williams' point is that if the government's allocation of resources is given to selected groups, then these groups gain over the non-selected groups. This will cause division and self-segregation among a society, which always leads to
divide each other. For example S.E. Hinton in her book THE GREASERS. That ‘’Greasers’’ and ‘’Soc’’ are separated because the soc are cooler than the greasers. Separation is going on in society, in the Nove sometimes people can’t have their freedom of speecHave you ever thought why everybody is separated?
Every human being belongs to a specific type of race or possibly multiple races depending on his/her background. As a population, society views their fellow citizens according to their certain race. For some, culture and traditions of their own race means everything to them and these people are proud of who they are and where they come from. However, for some races their background and pride carries burdens.
Even in a society that, overall, is diverse, people with similar ideas and experiences tend to congregate in small groups, where they are comfortable. It is much easier to remain in homogenous groups, among those who understand each other. When different groups combine, many different life experiences and points of view will be present and will potentially clash. Misunderstanding is bound to occur in some form when individuals of different backgrounds interact. When misunderstandings occur, people tend to respond with violence, fear, or stereotyping.
If people are constantly surrounded by the same group of people all their life, this idea of “segregation” may be the only thing that seems common for them. Moreover, overall reason as to why anyone hasn’t pushed to change this may also be connected to a sense of fear when it comes to
Racial identity plays a role in the physical and psychological features of humans. Physically, humans in different parts of the globe endure different conditions and environments. Humans adapt to their environments and obtain different physical traits, henceforth, these physical traits have become adjacent to race. Psychologically, ancestral prejudices and influences throughout history have lingered through the generations and have impacted modern racial identities and tensions. Ethnic conflicts of the past such as the Social Darwinist theory of a "superior race" are morally refuted in current times, but that assumption had a brunt impact in which the world is still repairing today.
Technology could help people adapt in ways that could help them change the way they live and think. Although, it could negatively affect the way people process information through the internet such as having problems with literacy and distractions. In “Smarter than You Think”, Clive Thompson claims that technology can help humans be smarter. Technology such as computers to mentally challenge themselves, so they can improve. Thompson talks about how playing a computer in any sort of game like chess could be a game changer for humans to help them improve their performance and overcome their mistakes.
On the one hand, some argue that language constructs our thoughts. From this perspective, Deborah Tannen, from the language constructs thought community, states that “This is how language works. It invisibly molds our way of thinking about people, actions, and the world around us” (Tannen 14). On the other hand, however, others such as Richard Selzer, might say that language is used to represent our thoughts, but it can fall short. One of his view’s main proponents are, “these extremes of sensation remain beyond the power of language to express” (Selzer 28).
