CAS is an abbreviation by the IB standing for Creativity, Action, and Service. Each of the following terms is of grave importance to the IB program and the creation of a holistic and meaningful education. It is an essential part of the program, and also one of the most interactive ones if treated correctly, allowing oneself to develop and uncover new aspects of their personality. Creativity refers to creative thinking, through many experiences including but not limited to art, as many misconceive. Action refers to physical exertion (according to each individual’s ability) in order to make a contribution either in terms of academics or throughout any area of the diploma. The first outcome, the development of new skills, is clear through CAS because of the skills acquired through new tasks; it is also clear for TOK because the main skill that TOK aims to teach is critical thinking, by enabling the student to understand how they learn; one of the first ways through which this has been done is through the analysis of an argument ad ignorantiam, or an appeal to ignorance, which basically says that something is true because it has not yet been proven false. Also, through the analysis of the connection of TOK and the humanities, issues of global importance are addressed, and specifically their implications of knowledge, such as in analyzing primary and second-hand knowledge and its relationship to what we learn and the ways through which we obtain knowledge. Furthermore, through working in groups throughout class and sharing ideas, the concept of collaboratively working with others is address. The New Liberal Arts- Summary In the article, “The New Liberal Arts,” author Sanford J. Ungar addresses several misperceptions that people have about the importance of Liberal arts education in today’s world. In doing so, he highlights seven misperceptions that people have and then provides a logical correction to them. In his article, the first misperception claims that people should focus more on career education rather than liberal arts education. On contrary, Ungar argues that the society today, demand individual’s who have preparation in all fields, which liberal arts provide.

From the lessons learned from the patients-centered medical home (PCMH), the NCQA was motivated to develop an accreditation process for ACOs. The NCQA tried to accommodate the lessons that they learned from the PCMH programs so as to develop a very excellent program that recognizes that provisions of the high-quality primary care are the foundation of good health. NCQA also recognizes that although the evaluation of the result is very imperative, it is also critical to assess the ACOs using evidenced based criteria. Through these measures, the organizations can learn more about what is needed and what they need to do so that they can be compliant. They can also learn the key elements required for successful transformation of the ACO.
As I am quickly approaching the end of my senior, I am looking back at how far I have come since freshman year and everything that Henley High School has helped me accomplish in my life. In preparation for the life that every senior must experience after school, the senior capstone project was put in place to help seniors find out what they would suit them as career and give them some of the necessary tools in achieving that. Part of the capstone was earning service hours at a non profit organization, that can go on a resume. With serving came a facilitator, who guides one’s service, and also the challenges and success of the service itself.
