INTRODUCTION
The coming of industrialisation not only transformed society but also created a demand to house these machines of varying spatial requirements and functioning. Today industries have become an indispensible part of the modern day economy. Thus, Industrial architecture has evolved itself into a specialised field in terms of design and management. With the introduction of automation in manufacturing the lives of people has moved out of the domestic environment into area which is dominated by technology and gadgets.
Industrial architecture has to deal with complex services, provide efficient plans to deal with growing importance of the movement of people and goods, promoting effective dialogue with its users. It is basically designed to contain carefully programmed sequences of productions and operations converting raw material into finished product.
Given the magnitude of development that can be foreseen on the industrial front in coming years there is a distinct requirement for an architect to grasp the requirements of an industrial building design.
These requirements embrace both strict functional specifications as well as ambience conducive to greater productivity.
