The term interconnectedness is defined as “the quality or condition of being interconnected” (Interconnectedness, n.d.). These relationships have a cause and effect on how we perform our jobs and how we relate to our peers both formal and informal. Determining how others relate or affect our ability to do our jobs is dependent on the single interruption of the organization structure (Nasar, 2007; Ployhart, Van Iddekinge, & Mackenzie Jr., 2011). The relevance of how other affect my job performance and how I may or may not affect other.
My system theory chart of the interconnectedness structure at the personal level has four (4) each co-worker and customers with me in the middle. Below I will describe how each person listed affect me (and my job) and how others are affected by my job. Janet (Mill Production Manager) has a relevance of five (5). Our production tracking system and scheduling system is on our IBM iSeries AS400 and all of the process data (Plant Information System (PI) depends on the network and server infrastructure; these systems collect data from external control systems and automate quality testing equipment. Production bottom line is the total product produced and shipping in any twenty-four (24) day, but if the data or system (AS400) is unavailable it directly impacts production process; the scheduler builds the production orders for the manufacturing department and transportation needs. The plant information system (PI) data is used on the production floor to monitor thousands of data points associated with the production process; this includes the entire plant. The data is used monitor current production but is also used to tend and troubleshoot disruptions in the process and provides a big picture of the plant's
