International Law
International law’s imposition is being challenged through global trends. Global trends are setting a variation of situations wherein international law needs to suit in order to still establish its power. International law, in the other hand, controls the circulation of politics, economics, and the society. How does the dispute in the West Philippine Sea affect the international relations of both Philippines and China?
The rules of international law can be established in three main ways. First, is by international, formal agreement, usually between States. International law is a powerful conduit for combating human trafficking. The most reputable and recent instruments of international law that have set the course for how to define, prevent, and prosecute human trafficking are the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and its two related protocols: the United Nations Protocol to Prevent, Suppress, and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children, and the United Nations Protocol against the Smuggling of Migrants by Land, Sea, and Air, which entered into force in 2003-2004. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) created these conventions, which have supported international law’s ability to combat human trafficking. In support of enforcing these instruments, the UNODC established the United Nations Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking (UN.GIFT) in 2007. (King, 2015). With international law, the solution is somehow possible. Cooperation within countries who opposes this kind of criminality is being collective. Regulations were being implemented throughout the whole globe. In short, international law is also taking its place in order to empower the rights of the people in the sense of international accumulation.
The global trends is being created and solved by international law. However, its effects are being put into considerations. International law, on the other hand, tries to formulate certain goals in order for it to cope with the needs with those particular scenarios.
