INTRODUCTION Meaning of Mandarin is the standard literary and official from of Chinese, spoken by over 730 million people or an official in any of the nine top grades of the former imperial Chinese civil service (mandarin1, n.d.). Mandarin also is the official languages of mainland China (since 1982), ROC Taiwan (since 1932), one of four official languages of Singapore, and one of eight official language of the United Nations (UN) (Chinese, 2014). The status of Mandarin is increasing because of China is starting to replace the status of the United States (US) from aspect of economy, politic and military. Therefore, Mandarin has already become a language in ranking top ten useful and most important language in the world (Languages, 2014).
