Latin is a high school elective I would like to be added to the school’s curriculum. Why? DIS in my opinion, doesn’t have enough second language options for students to choose from. For an International school to be diverse, the school must have enough options for second language that allows students to choose from. In addition, learning a second language does not only help a student to apply for college, but also aids the student’s resume in the future while applying for jobs. This language that originated from Rome even helps an individual’s development of “political conscienceness” meaning that students are likely to have notable political knowledge even before learning about the subject.Latin isn’t an option for many international schools in Taiwan. Therefore, should be considered as an option even more. Latin not only aids the school for diversity, but also equips a student for future university experiences.

“Latin Helps With English Grammar.” “The Study of Latin Enhances Vocabulary.” “The Study of Latin Introduces Logic.” “Help with phonics.” “People Do Think Differently & Latin can help your children realize not everyone thinks the way they do.” It is also the language that is most closely related to the English language that we study in school. Learning Latin may not guarantee your improvement of your English proficiency. However, it brings insights to young adults who do decide to learn Latin.

Studying Latin may have far more benefits than you have imagined. Including being able to increase critical thinking skills, political insights, advantages in work and college resumes, and as well as diversifying the school community. These are everything that the students can benefit from learning the Latin language. The most essential potion, nevertheless, is how the students cope with their studies and achieve more than what they’re capable of.
