Leadership is a very important field since it moves the whole world. In other words, it is an essential function of management which can achieve maximum efficiency and organizational goals. Many individuals ask why we should study this field or why this assignment is important. According to the notion of balance as defined by Morrison, "leadership is a balance in effective relationships whether boss with employee, staff with volunteer, or chairman with committee." From the situational prospect, Morrison defines it as "it is situational and it is the art of getting or inspiring people to do something with the focus on people." (3) Mills defined "leadership as a process by which one person influences the thoughts, attitudes, and behaviors of others." In other words, it is a guidance that shows the way in order to achieve the organization 's goals. The leaders ' responsibility is to set the direction for the rest of people who work with him. (2)

Without leadership, a group of people who work in an organization become lost and this will result in argument and conflict. In other words, a blank and empty future lay before them. The first two styles are mainly based on the leader. The last two are based on the group. The fist style is Authoritative. This style is adopted when the leader decides and announces his decisions. In other words, the leader is the only one who makes decisions. This style is suitable for political leaders. The authoritative leader is seen as an expert in the company, and is able to clearly identify the goals that will lead the organization to success. The second style is the political one which means that a leader decides and sells the decision to the group. Kings and presidents adopt this style of leadership. For instance the leader identifies a problem or goal to be reached. He considers alternative solutions, selects one of them and then reports this decision to his staff. The leader must then “sell” his decision. The third style is evaluative. The leader puts assumptions or presents ideas and invites questions. The fourth style is participative. In this style, the leader presents alternative solutions and the group chooses the most suitable one. The team shares the responsibility for planning the activities that are essential to carry out the decision. The team also shares the responsibility for the results. The last style is Laissez – Faire in which the group presents alternatives and the group selects from one of them. In this style, the leader puts great trust on his group.

Such as war, people, poverty, and even themselves. Both Machiavelli in “The qualities of the prince” talks about on how a prince is supposed to be a leader and that good leaders must learn not to be convenient or compassionate to keep stability. Lao Tzu in “Thoughts from the Tao-te Ching” believes in having a silent leader so the people will do what he wants them to do and fill like they are not being guided.
Leadership is influencing those around you in a positive way. It also means inspiring others to achieve their goals, while also achieving yours along the way. While inspiration and achievement are essential to be a successful leader, I believe that the most important goal is to encourage others to also become effective leaders. I believe that the following quote aligns to the values of our organization, “I start with the premise that the function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers.” - Ralph Nader.
Winston and Patterson (2006) integrative definition of leadership is an excellent definition of leadership. Thus, Hitler also fits the definition only the most important ingredient is missing from Hitler leadership, which would be the presence of the Lord. There as been an enormous amount of information on the definition of leadership however, Bass (1990) argues that Leadership has been the focus of group processes, as a personality attribute, as the art of inducing compliance, as an exercise of influence, as a kind of act, as a form of persuasion, as a power relation, as an instrument in the attainment of goals, as an effect of nitration, as a differentiated role, and as the initiation of structure (20).
Within this assignment, the importance of leadership and management will be discussed and differentiated. Leadership theories, styles and change management models will be discussed and critically reviewed and referred to in relation to a chosen national driver. A national driver is essential, following the results of the Francis Report in 2013, as it leads to safety and high-quality care. The purpose of this essay is to highlight the correlation between effective leadership, management and patient safety.
In developing this paper on leadership, I examined what was most important to me as a leader. As I reflected on my leadership philosophy, I thought about my experiences and the principals that I have learned through my own self-discovery and the observation of other leaders that I have had throughout my life. My leadership philosophy paper will focus on what leadership is to me, core values, and knowledge of others. In thinking about my definition of leadership, I thought of what was most important to me in and as a leader.
The styles, by name and brief description alone, will resonate with anyone who leads, is led, or, as is the case with most of us, does both. Coercive leaders demand immediate compliance. Authoritative leaders mobilize people toward a vision. Affiliative leaders create emotional bonds and harmony. Democratic leaders build consensus through participation.
According to American Nursing Association, “Leaders do more than delegate, dictate, and direct. Leaders help others achieve their highest potential.” Leadership has been described as “influence, that is, the art or process of influencing people so they may strive willingly and enthusiastically toward the achievement of group goals.” (Weihrich and Koontz, 2005) As stated in the Online Journal of Issues in Nursing, ‘Qualities of a Good Leader” “The qualities of a good leader includes, having a structural framework, making sound and timely decision.

Scholars who study leadership have argued with the insight of leadership for many decades and finally promote a wide range of understandings of it. This course “values and leadership” introduces the basic principles and concepts about leadership, and provides us with some conceptual knowledge and practical approaches to be an outstanding leaders. I chose to take this course because I am interested in the topic about leadership.
Mosadeghard (2003) had pointed out different styles of leadership. These styles are: autocratic, bureaucratic, laissez-faire, charismatic, democratic, participative, situational, transactional, and transformational leadership. Aioanei (2006) explained that in autocratic leadership style, organization is highly centralized. Leaders are more concerned with the tasks to be performed rather than developing relations. There will be information on the advantages and disadvantages of the leadership theories and information on each including examples. The purpose of this paper is to view various kinds of leadership theories and apply them to a real-life scenario. Leadership: Definition Leadership is the process of influencing the motive of the employees and so directing, guiding them to the proper completion of the short-term goals and the mission, vision of the firm. Leadership referring to achieve a specific set of goals of the business enterprise by minimizing risk and more advantage of opportunities is also called Entrepreneurial Leadership (Rao, 2015). Today leadership is such an iterative process when the leaders should have a variety of qualities and expertise in different area of management.
