An unknown person once said “In the blink of an eye everything can change. So forgive often and love with all your heart. You may never get that chance again” This quote means never take people who care for granted. They could be gone in a split second so cherish them while they are still around. I learned that when my brother, Nicolas, on Sunday June 21, 2015 got into a serious car crash. I am so thankful that my brother is still around. It was the last day of Sugarfest in Sebewaing, a festival that celebrates the sugar factory in Sebewaing, which provides many jobs to the people in town. My brother was 16 and I was 12. We were going to go to the midway to ride the rides but when I woke up that morning, I was as sick as a dog. Therefore, I decided to stay home. It was the last day so not a lot of people would be there anyway. After breakfast, my brother said goodbye and he was sorry that I was sick then he went on …show more content…
He was taking his friend home after an afternoon of riding rides and consuming junk food like a pig. If I would have went with him that day, he would have never taken his friend home, which means he would have been on that road and he never would have swerved off the road to avoid that deer. After a while I realized that it wasn’t my fault, and I should be thankful that I still had brother around. My brother and I always used to fight and bicker before he crashed. Now after almost losing him, we are closer than ever. I can tell him anything and talk crap anyone and he will listen. I do the same for him. Never take anyone in life for granted, because no one can know if it will be the last time that they see someone. The day my brother got into a crash was possibly the scariest day of my life. People will come and go in life, while they are there, make sure to tell them how important and loved that they are. The chances are limited and may never come
People’s heart and their demeanor will always stay the same until other people break them and change them. Moreover, some people’s heart may never be broke. “It’s easy to talk to a horse if you understand his language. A horse stays the same from the day they are born until the day they die. However, they are changed due to the way people treat them.”
I walked over and noticed his papers blotted with tears. The sincerity of his struggles anguished me. Our relationship during his recovery developed into something greater than one between brother and sister. I became his caretaker in all things.
Applying this quote to my own life would mean that those around me will never see me as a changed person but will only see me grow into a more complete version of
The cases of Pervis Payne, Walter McMillian, and Jefferson from the novel ‘A Lesson Before Dying" are prime examples of the corrupt justice that is so deeply rooted in the judicial system. All three of these men were held in unfair court trials in which all odds were stacked against them. Each of these cases has its own unique story, but ultimately, they all expose the unjust violations of human and civil rights in court systems. Pervis Payne was a Tennessee man who, on June 27, 1987, on a Saturday, was unfairly accused of the attempted rape of his girlfriend’s neighbor, Charisse Christopher, and the murder of Charisse and her two-year-old daughter, Lacie Jo. Due to the fact that there was no clear motive or reason for Payne to commit such
pg. 216 -Mikey Holloman. The significance of this quote shows you that when you do something wrong and unchangeable, like shooting someone you will feel a horrible amount of regret and guilt. You are never able to get someone's life back once you take it away from them. Also my quote shows that once you make an unchangeable decision like shooting someone, you will distance yourself from socializing and the people that you truly love because when you make a regrettable decision, you just can't be completely normal and act like nothing happened, that's a really difficult thing to do.
A Lesson Before Dying In the book A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest J. Gaines, the character Grant Wiggins undergoes a significant change throughout the story. At the novel's beginning, Grant is a school teacher frustrated by his inability to make a real difference in the lives of his students. The lack of change he can cause, causes him to see no purpose in his work and life. However, at the end of the book, by teaching Jefferson his worth, Grant also discovers his purpose in life and his ability to affect change in his community. This reveals the theme that when a person with no purpose opens himself to empathy and service as a result of human connection, he discovers a sense of purpose and can affect change in others.
"Above all: to thine own self be true." - William Shakespeare In this quote, Shakespeare is saying that no matter what happens to or around you never change yourself. Now this doesn’t mean you can’t learn from that situation, it just means don’t change your beliefs and goals. For me personally I learned this the hard way in middle school.
Last time I went to Indy Screampark I was nine years old. I did not want to go then either but my parents made me go. When we went I walked with my mom, dad, brother, and my coach. Well of course nine year old me was balling my eyes out, as my parents were dragging me through the first room.
The quote boils down to loving everyone equally no matter
The most boring day ever. “Sweet, I got a quad feed” I called out. I was playing Call of Duty with my best friend, Bobby who was 12 at the time and my brother ty who was only 9. As for me, I was 10. I was very skinny and boney
“Yes, you can lose somebody overnight, yes, your whole life can be turned upside down. Life is short. It can come and go like a feather in the wind. ”- Shania Twain.
Cannon Hall 3rd Hour Don ‘Butch’ Hall I never was really close with my grandfather. I’ve pretty much lived in Utah my whole life. I was born in Richland, Washington, but I have no memories of living there because my family moved here, to Utah, when I was two. The majority of my family, from both my mother’s and my father’s side, live in the northwest.
The Punta Cana Vacation Have you ever had a vacation where your child does something horrible in public at a swimming pool? A vacation is when one or more people are gone for an extended period of time. When I was four years old me, my mother, my father, my grandpa, and my grandma went to Punta Cana to get away from the cold weather. It has been happening, ever since we left Illinois and Missouri. So, we boarded the plane and took off to Punta Cana, everyone was either taking a nap or watching a movie while the plane was moving.
It’s difficult to pinpoint a specific moment in one’s life in which your life is transformed. We often realize that this moment is so signingagent when looking back on personal experiences and don’t realize it at the time. For me, this moment occurred when I realized that I had taken what I love most for granted. It all started back in 2004 when my family suggested that I get into a sport at a young age.
A memorable day I my life is when I first found out I was a diabetic. I was scared and didn’t really understand what was happening. I was too sick, and for the most part out of my mind. But, what I do remember is a lot of pain and a few visitors. It wasn’t the best day and I don’t remember every detail.
