Money, it makes the world go ‘round. Every day, everyone goes through the stresses of life, including going to work, paying taxes, managing your finances, and worrying about when that crippling debt will fade away with your efforts. But what if you could eliminate all the stresses that came with money, all at once? In a 2012 article by Mandi Woodruff titled “Why This Controversial German Woman Turned Her Back On Money For 16 Years,” Heidemarie Shwermer did just that. Shwermer, in her early 50s, decided to live completely money free in her daily life. She packed some daily essentials and the clothes on her back, saved €200 in an emergency reserve fund, and left her cushy job to live out her life as a drifter. She did this by choice, and found that her life improved with this unique lifestyle. Looking at the benefits, people should consider living a life without money.
Firstly, living a money free life would reduce stress, no longer have to worry about money. Shwermer had her life greatly improved after she decided to go money free. The article states “Sixteen years later, she hasn’t looked back. ‘I noticed less and less that I needed money,’ she told BI [Business Insider] by phone from Hamelin, Germany. ‘I didn’t want to go back to my old life.’” She was successful, and more happy overall. She loved her new life, and preferred it over living with a job. She didn’t say she regretted a single thing, now that she didn’t have to worry about money. Some say she shouldn’t have left her nice

William Hazlitt, a renowned 19th century author, highlights in his famous text “On the Want of Money” his ideas on money and how it plays a part in how a person lives their life. Hazlitt presents the case that money cannot buy happiness as it superficial, but yet life without money will ultimately end in sorrow and “to be scrutinized by strangers, and neglected by friends.” By his extreme control over rhetorical strategies such as diction, syntax, and imagery Hazlitt was able to accurately portray his beliefs on the effect of money on people. The most potent strategy in Hazlitt’s delivery is his diction; he uses this to stress the importance of wealth.
Financial power is alluring in more that one way; ignorance and love - the two extremes, in this case it caused the suitcase lady to loose the only person she had. It is up to others to change the perspective of people in need, rather than listening to what society says. This is seen in both Of Mice and Men with Curly’s wife and Candy and in the “Suitcase Lady”. To get power, people take it from others, this creates
At the end of the article she concludes that poverty is just a shortage of money and not a character
As the month of November comes along annually, every single high school senior is forced to decide which path they are going to take after graduating. For some, it is easy to choose which college to attend and how to pay for it. But, for many, it is extremely difficult to figure out a way to get the funds for college. So, they choose the community college route. Community college is drastically cheaper than tuition at a four year university.
What does it mean to be free? In our society today, freedom gives citizens the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hinderance or restraint. Our American heritage diverges from cultural values, norms, belief systems, and the development of social forces. Free will is the driving force of our nation which allows diversity among social statuses, social classes, and ethic groups. Our responsibility for preserving it, rebuttals the fact that each and every one of us should be open, accepting, and understanding to ones values of credence or race.
The short story “Folding Beijing” by Hao Jingang shows that while money may not be able to buy happiness outright, it does give access to comfort and contentment. In the story “Folding Beijing” we see three different class sets and how each of them live. It opens following Lao Dao though his home of Third Space describing the ratty nature of his clothing as he sees people at food stalls before the change in Space. Lao Dao thinks to himself about how he has been skipping breakfast to save money stating; “He used to spend about a hundred each day on this meal, which translated to three thousand for the month” (89).
One example of this laid-back attitude towards spending money is when Francis goes home after 22 years and gets $10 from Billy. Francis then jokes with his wife, Annie, about putting “…ten dollars toward the frame” (183) for a picture they like. This minor and seemingly harmless remark digs deeper into the person Francis is. Rather than spending money on food or shelter, he would rather spend it on a useless trinket that does not improve his life. Considering the economic climate at the time coupled with his situation, this joke turns into an ignorant statement which explains why he has “…been broke twenty-two years” (182).
William Hazlitt composed his passaged, “On the Want of Money” to express that “one cannot get on well in the world without money”. Although many believe money is not necessary to be happy Hazlitt provides his audience with a substantial argument that money is needed to live happily. Within Hazlitt’s sharp excerpt, he uses several different rhetorical strategies to strengthen his argument and express his views on the importance of money. Money in fact, is very important to each person since in today’s world, money is used for everything. The problem is occurring is it is almost impossible to not desire or need money in our society.
The common moral of many well known stories is that money doesn 't not equate to happiness. You can live life without money and yet maintain a blissful life. In "On the want of money" however, an essay written by William Hazlitt, the author outright denounces this cliche idea and points to money as a key ingredient to a prosperous life. He claims that money is one 's life line to success in this materialistic world as without it, you will be subjected to the constraints of poverty and it 's harsh effects. Hazlitt builds on his argument of the necessity of money through his use of powerful diction, clever syntax through long repetition, logos, and an assertive tone.
Money can bring great joy to someone’s life, but it can also bring destruction and unhappiness. Wanting money and material goods over love or leisure time can be frustrating and can distract from happiness. Desires that are way too high and are constantly rising higher with every material purchase, can make someone

Aside from using money for basic needs, money can also buy happiness by allowing one to buy time, live life to the fullest, and live freely without having to worries. First of all, money can buy you time, time is definite and stubborn, meaning that time time is constantly moving forwards and does not stop for anything. There is only so much of it, and no matter how long we complain about not having enough, it will never give us a 25 hour day even when we turn in our request for more time to finish a project before the deadline. According to an article in the Time magazine Dan Gilbert, Harvard University psychology professor said, “ Use your money to buy moments and not stuff, the key is to spend your money on experiences and not material things. Memories of people, places and activities, however, never get old.”
