The sphere of tourist service was always a rather profitable business allowing to involve a substantial amount of investitions and to always gain benefits from their activities as far as people usually like traveling, discovering new places. Thus, they do not object paying definite sums in order to make their dreams come true. However, as in any other sphere, for tourist companies it is essential to know their customer market, on whom they have to be oriented, and what to provide to their clients. Thus, the successful tourist business recognizes the needs of their customers. Thus, the need to travel may be highlighted in terms of the Maslow 's hierarchy of needs. According to it, the tourism industry is able to satisfy the needs of their customers on various levels, including the psychological needs, needs for safety, love, self-esteem, and self-actualization. For each of the categories the tourism industry could provide some offers, starting from tour packages offering frequent rest stops and ending with educational tours and cruises (Ofilada, 2013). The higher is the level of the tourist offer, the larger opportunities are suggested to the clients, and the better their expectations will be met. The motivation for traveling differs not only among the people belonging to various groups, but also due to the time characteristics. Throughout the history, the tourism motivation was changing rather fast and strongly. For example, when speaking about the ancient world, “the wealthier members of Athenian and Roman society owned summer resorts and used to holiday there to avoid the heat of the cities and indulge in a social life” (Goeldner & Ritchie, 2012). Then, the Middle Ages with the pilgrimage was characterized by prevailing religious motives to travel. Later, at the Tudor times, traveling could be seen as a way to finish one 's education and was a privilege for aristocratic youth.
