First of all I would like to thank the University Of Fort Hare for this first and essential period of my career, if it was not for them I would have not gained this experience. The fact is that theory is much more different than practical.
In this essay I will dwell on the impact I have made as a student teacher. Secondly there are several strengths that I have developed during my School Experience. The relationships that I have formed with learners in my school experience played a huge role and improved their self esteem in terms of academics, because I was making a point that every learner is participating in the classroom whereas there’s those learners that don’t believe in their selves and not confident about their work. It was not easy but I tried a lot to form some unique and constructive relationships. I believe that having a relationship with learners is the best opportunity to use, to make them believe in their selves and be patient to understand and remove that negativity of failing to try. All I was saying to them that they must try to fail and must never ever fail to try never, and use to tell learners that honesty is the best policy, and that improved my learners self esteem.

Multicultural education is a reform movement for school of diversity. It came to be known during the civil rights movement of the 1960s and the 1970s. If planned out carefully and thoughtfully, it will transform schools, colleges, universities and other learning institutes. Multiculturalism is mainly used by diversity critics to describe the practices the practices they directly opposed or is mutually incompatible to the Western Canon. The purpose is to give each student the freedom to voice their opinion, give each student justice, and give each student their equality.
If a school consists of only one type of race or ethnic group, then the students are isolated to the ideals of that specific community. But if diversity exists, the opportunity arises to learn about different cultures and become more well-rounded. This is illustrated by Owen and his best friend Dave, who is white. Even though Owen and Dave are two different races, they do not let that prevent them from being friends. They use their differences as an advantage to learn from each other and to help each other out.
Within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) it is enormously important for relationships to be formed and maintained. Relationships should be formed between teachers and their pupils, teachers and parents and between teachers themselves. It is important for relationships to be maintained throughout the EYFS so that the child’s learning and development is effectively taught, so parents and carers knows they can trust the teachers and so teachers can work together successfully. Teachers and their pupils need to have a positive relationship.
After numerous e-mails to each other, Mr. Bowe and I decided to schedule the interview in his classroom for Friday, October 9th. Analogous with the majority of those that enter the teaching profession, Mr. Bowe’s desire to better the lives of students began with a fundamental inspiration: his teachers. Teachers are, in one word, influential. A great teacher inspires their students to love learning.
All students have the possibility to learn and with the proper experience, they will focus. There are many different ways used to build respect and a positive rapport with students. One that has always work is helping the students feel comfortable with the environment. When the environment is positive and comfortable to the students, the student tends to worry less and be natural. Building a positive rapport is not easy and it takes time and dedication.
To resolve these relating to segregation and educational inequity, educators must face racism upfront. Educators have to confront their own, sometimes unmindful, racism, and then move toward integration that will lead to a better cure of racism or at least a prejudice reduction. Important aspects of a multicultural curriculum include critical thinking, emotional intelligence instruction, character, moral education, peace education, service learning, antiviolence education, and the comprehensive of education etc. Sandra Parks, a successful educator, believes that by adapting the curriculum and by addressing expressions of racism, schools can help students improve to by understanding and dealing with other people, of peoples color and cultural differences. She believes that teachers have to show respect towards their students, their families, and their students' cultural backgrounds.
Writing essays and other types of posts has always been difficult for me. But, throughout this composition class, I have learned many interesting and new things about the different types of writing styles. When starting this class, I considered myself to be an average writer with run-of-the-mill vocabulary, ordinary sentence structure and typical finished products. This class has helped me greatly improve my writing skills in a variety of ways. I have learned multiple things by taking this class, such as new ways to approach writing and that there is much that I still need to learn about composition.
Personal Narrative Essay Believe it or not, sometimes a gracious action can bring a huge influence on a person. When I read the introduction that instructor Heller wrote, there is a sentence she wrote: “Sometimes the most influential moments in our lives are smaller moments, events that we may not recognize as influential until years after the experience.” For some reason, I related to it strongly. My story is about my high school experience. Also, I will share some significant moments in my life, and how these smaller moments changed my personality.
Academic success to me is achieving good grades and understanding the material to get good grades. Academic success also means to have an good attendance. I already get mostly A’s and B’s, but I am not good at staying on top of things. To improve my academic success I will attend class more often, be more organized, pay attention in class, and not procrastinate.
The high school that I was in gave me an interesting experience. I was able to learn and experience different lessons with in my high school. Three of those life lessons that I went through are when my school was placed on lockdown, another experience is a club that I joined which helped really mature. Finally the other experience I faced in high school was that some of my friends that I had wanted me to join them in some bad situations but I kept myself out of those situations.
My educational journey has been an experience I will remember. I have attended school in three different countries, Antigua, St. Thomas, and New York. A diverse educational experience has allowed me to interact with many different cultures and confront many of the different topics we discussed in class. At that time however, I was not fully aware of the implications of certain situation but after many readings I can now fully understand many of the experiences I encountered in my journey. All the information I have learned in this class however will bring all my experience together where I can make much more sense of it than I could when I was younger.
My high school experience was a long, frustrating learning experience. I didn’t know what to expect, or what I was getting myself into. Nobody gave me the tools to understand the main focus of each year. I am going to give you tips and advice on how to succeed in high school. I will discuss 9-12th grade along with what to expect each year.
All students deserve to be treated fairly as individuals. When considering the diversity of the class members, we will celebrate the uniqueness that the differences contribute. Because I have high expectations that all my children can be successful, adjustments may be necessary because everyone is not the same (Burden, 2017, p. 115). It is vital that a spirit of understanding and edification is active amongst the students and from the teacher (Romans 14:19, King James Version) to produce fruits of mutual respect: reduced bias, positive academic outcomes, enhanced problem solving, and healthy group dynamics (Cousik, 2015, p. 54). For differences that stem from culture, gender, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status, the adjustments will involve bridging the cultural gap between the students’ diversity and the curriculum.
Being a teacher is a journey that has much to do with learning about yourself and being aware that what happens in your classroom reflects only on how are you with yourself. Teachers are not conscious that they project into students, and that affects how things go in the classroom. I believe the first characteristic of a good teacher is that he/ she is always willing to analyze his/her teaching performance. Second the teacher is humble enough to receive input about the development and application of techniques, learning from it and improving.
Throughout my training, I implemented various strategies for engaging students in small groups and rigorous lessons. My role as a teacher is to communicate effectively, be respectful, and have self-worth and confidence. I did fear making wrong choices throughout this field experience. I set high expectations the students to achieve high goals. Teaching to me opened doors to many students’ lives.
