70% of the Earth’s surface is covered with water while the rest of it is covered by land. Meanwhile 97% water supply of Earth is oceans. Oceans are vast water bodies having salty water. There are Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Arctic and Antarctic oceans. This saline body water houses various animals and plants. Humans can draw many benefits from oceans. For instance the lands near oceans are normally cooler and the oceans may be responsible for the change in weather. In simple terms they act as heaters in the winter season and as air conditioners during summer season. Monsoon rain is a phenomenon that is caused by the Bay of Bengal. This is how oceans influence the Earth’s weather patterns.
What is Atlantic Ocean?
The Pacific Ocean is the largest ocean in the world while the Atlantic ocean comes ins second in terms of its size. It’s almost half the size of Pacific having 106, 460, 00 kilometers square worth of region and 20% of its surface covers the Earth. The ocean is said to isolate the old world from the new world.
