That, (around 1550) was the moment when the first backdrop of packaging with the template we follow today started to appear, often taking the shape of a hand printing. But this is clearly not the end;effectively . When population had the chance to move faster everything started to move faster, and to do that in the healthier and safer way packaging played a fundamental role. However,(2011,pp12-16)The reasons why packaging design developed so much, although slowly ,are not only strictly related to protection and transportation of the goods. Packaging has become in the last centuries more and more of a way to differentiate the products from competitors’ ones;it is through packaging and aesthetics that companies try to establish their brand in people’s mind and, bringing “packaging design” to play a fundamental role in “marketing strategy”. The highest pick for the packaging design industry was reached in1930 when a lot of publications started promoting suppliers, designers and clients providing the best information about the growing field, and when even advertising companies started to provide packaging services. The first concerns about environment are not very old. Only in the last decades big industries, environmental entities and even single individuals have started to fight for a more sustainable design, which obviously in dudes packaging at first. (2007,pp 1)The problem however is that there is a general misconception about the topic:what is thought is that environmental protection will have a bad effect on economic growth but this isn’t true if sustainable development is achieved.Plus, source reduction does not only include reduction in the use of material, but includes as well the activities that increase product durability and reusability. Very often people tend to forget that what we can do in our daily life, can make all together a big difference . The problem with packaging is that we expect big industries to change the way they produce their goods and we want the governments to change the legislation, without even thinking that we could easily start ourselves changing the things.(2007,pp 21)In 1989 , United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) launched the term “cleaner production” as a response to the question of how to pro- duce in a sustainable manner : it focuses on the protection of natural resources and it involves a process of rethinking when it comes to making, either products
Daniel Serrato HISTORY 111 Document and Essay Question assignment 7 1. What motivated and sustained the long-distance commerce of the Silk Roads, Sea Roads, and Sand Roads? Why did the peoples of the Eastern Hemisphere develop long-distance trade more extensively than did those of the Western Hemisphere? One thing that I noticed that motivated the long-distance commerce of the Silk Roads, Sea Roads, and Sand Roads was the fact that the elites were desired luxury items from distant parts of the Eurasian network.
The Silk Road began in the 2nd century BCE with the diplomatic missions of Zhang Qian sent by the Han Emperor. The Silk Road was largely fragmented, commodities carried by merchants of many countries on the Silk Road from present day China to present day Turkey. The interaction of these different cultures created a cultural diffusion that can be seen in the resulting names, tools, jewelry, luxuries and house wares that these different societies adopted. Silk was one of the most important items traded along the Silk Road. Once the Silk Road was open techniques of weaving the silken thread did not begin to spread because this material was similar to that used by cloth weavers.
The Silk Road was a complex network of trading routes that spanned from eastern Europe to China, that allowed many goods to travel from city to city. During the Silk Road’s main prominence from around 200 B.C.E. to 1450 C.E., many changes took place - including ones that have drastically altered societies with change in both social hierarchies and major religions. However, even with the plethora of cultural changes that took place, a few aspects of the societies of the time stayed consistent, most noticeably the desire for luxury goods by the upper class. The Silk Road resulted in many changes to the social hierarchies of the time, especially in the treatment of women and merchants. In the second-wave civilizations prior to the road’s prominence, women and merchant were viewed as much lower members of society.
Nick Shaw AP World Silk Road Essay September 14, 2014 The size of the road, the goods traded, the purpose of the road, and the economic benefit were all examples of continuities and changes along the Silk Roads from 200 B.C.E. to 1450 C.E. A significant change that occurred on the Silk Roads throughout 200 BCE to 1450 CE was the size of the trading network as a whole. In the beginning of the Silk Road’s history, it began as a small path and was traveled on by merchants with luxury goods to sell. However, the Silk Road became more popular and the demand for products from the far stretches of the land grew immensely.

Introduction A company’s success is measured by how well it is structured and organized in order to adapt to the changes in environment as well as the changes within itself such as the company’s scale, employees, product scope, etc. Having a suitable, well-structured organizational frame will not only increase the chance of being success but also prolong the company’s lifespan compared to an un-structured one. It is important to note that an organization’s structure needs to fit in with the current situation and does not necessarily required remain unchanged over time. Taking Dynacorp as an example, even though its functional structure contributed to the vast growth of the company at the start, its limitation in dealing with the changes within
The packet trade grew throughout the 1840s and 1850s. Packets ran fixed routes according to fixed schedule. Rivers like the Mississippi had long been important means of transporting goods and people, but with the establishment of steam power, they became the central way around
During the time period between 600 and 1450 C.E. along the Silk Roads the spread of luxury goods, and the spread of diseases and pathogens remained constant(Ancient History Encyclopedia) (About the Silk Road), while there were significant changes such as the Silk Roads reinvigorating during Mongol rule, and the increase of long distance and interregional trade (The Silk Road and Arab Sea Routes)( History Repeating). During the time period 600-1450 C.E. the increase of population caused many things to stay constant because a large population demands of certain things. One continuity that occurred between dates 600 and 1450 C.E. was the spread of luxury goods. The reason for this continuity is because luxury goods were highly sought-after, so the people that made that good wanted to keep everyone depending on them for that good, which kept the constant flow of luxury goods (Ancient History Encyclopedia).
Between 500 and 1500 CE, many major trade routes that emerged were experiencing changes. One major trade route, the Silk Roads, experienced many changes that was brought on by the region. However, the Silk Roads still retained some of it’s traditions that had made it a substantial trade route in the first place. The Silk Roads went through many continuities and changes as trading occurred during the Post-Classical era. Continuities included the trading of luxury goods and changes included a variation in security.
The growing concerns of consumers about sustainable products and services lead to legislative amendments and to new products and services that follow the regulations or have a pre-emptive role (Slavova, 2014). The purpose of legislation is to protect the consumers by set prices for consumer goods. Therefore, there will be better quality products, more choice and innovation, all of that is for consumers own benefits. Consumerism influences people’s characters causing poverty.
