I learned that I maintained a constant schedule throughout the week. This occurred through similar patterns in meals, sleep, and exercise. A balanced schedule allowed me to accomplish everything I had planned to each day. Being in control of my routine gives me time to devote undivided attention to my work, and also juggle other responsibilities without feeling stretched thin or short on time. This allows me to have time to indulge in things that keep me mentally and emotionally well. A structured day sets expectations for when it’s mealtime, naptime, leisure time and bedtime and helps the bodies to fall asleep faster, and sleep better when it is done every day at the same time. In other words I create a mental “to do list” every day and complete everything on it. Completing all of the tasks on this list leads to satisfaction and a healthy environment for me. These small experiences of success leads to the release of dopamine in my brain, which in turn motivates me to repeat the actions to get the same satisfaction. This is why achieving small goals is such an effective way to stay motivated during long-term projects and processes. I am pushed to achieve more every time that I accomplish everything that I set out to do. My biggest time waster would be the amount of time I spend on video games. In moderation these games can be a good way for me to relax and destress at the end of a day. Although, this is never the case, because the games get in the way of time that could be spent studying more in my classes. I could also use this time to improve myself as a basketball player and aspiring coach. Investing my time in basketball will have a much greater return than wasting it on mindless hours of video games. I need to regulate my usage of of these video games in order to accomplish
