Personality Personality is a unique trait that distinguishes one individual from the next. However, there are attributes of personality that are shared and on the basis of these factors an individual will behave in a particular way. The Humanmetrics Jung Tyopology Test assesses four parameters of human personality that include extravert, sensing, thinking and judging. The first criterion, Extraversion – Introversion, signifies the source and direction of a person’s energy expression. An extravert’s source and direction of energy expression is mainly in the external world, while an introvert has a source of energy mainly in their own internal world. Individuals with an ENTJ personality have the same traits in the sense that they thrive on supervision of people. However, the difference is that ENTJs prefer to regulate individuals using their own rules while ESTJs enjoy enforcing rules that have been created by the authorities. This is also a positive trait in nursing leadership as this profession is filled with guidelines and protocols for different situations. Nurses must ensure that they adhere to the guidelines of the hospital as behaving otherwise may result in the in appropriate intervention and cases of malpractice.
