As we use various aspects of both the methodologies, the mixed research methodology has several advantages. This methodology offers multiple ways to approach the problem faced by the researchers. Generalizing the qualitative data and analyzing the unexpected data that emerge out of the research are the key aspects of the Mixed Research Methodology. Since it infuses the qualitative and quantitative ways, data resources like case studies, articles, interviews and surveys are combined in mixed research methodology. Mixed Methodology preferred where researchers are capable to gather aspects including data research and assimilation.
Theories are necessary to formulate how nurses provide care and influence nurses in challenging situations that occur. Imogene King’s theory of goal attainment is unique and describes interpersonal and dynamic relationships designed at attaining patients’ life goals, which signifies importance to the advancement in nursing clinical practice. King’s theory relied heavily
There are many resources available to nursing students who show interest in a particular field. Since pediatrics is a specialty that I would love to learn more about, Pediatric Nursing is a great place to gather information about the field that can be beneficial towards my career path. The journal provides nurses with "information that is both theoretically and clinically relevant to educate the novice, enrich the generalist, and advance the pediatric specialist towards providing professional care of the highest quality" (Jannetti, 2016). Pediatric Nursing provides readers with the most current information in the pediatric nursing field, from case studies to evidenced-based practice research to news on trends happening in the pediatric world of nursing. This will be beneficial to me because change is inevitable and with the current resources available, I will be prepared for the changes as well as grow with the
A conceptual framework is a set of related ideas behind the research design. It may be simple list of concepts and their possible associations or a more elaborate schematic diagram of key influences, presumed relationships and possible outcomes of the research problem. Most qualitative researchers start with a set of thoughtfully defined concepts and tentative associations as they design the research and begin to work with study participants. As the study progresses, concepts and their relationships become clearer, articulated in the participant’s voices. (Powell, E.T & Renner, M. 2003).
Therefore, in pursuance of knowledge to learn more about evidence-based healthcare, it is important to discuss how research influences the existing medical knowledge and practice, explore how evidence-based patient care can better the quality of care, and determine the various types of clinical strategies that can help foster an evidence-based nursing practice. Additionally, it is also important to analyze the component of the nursing process that aligns with evidence-based practice. Effects of research on existing medical knowledge and practice Over time, there has been a strong connection between health research and evidence-based practice. That is, research has become such a crucial factor in the present day medical practice due to the various impacts it has on the health sector. First, research enables
In order to have an effective decision making and implementation, nursing theories would be able to provide a rational for collection of data that is reliable and valid regarding the patient’s health status. Nursing theories also helps to institute criteria to measure the quality of nursing care. Nursing theories is known to enhance the autonomy of nursing and build a common nursing terminology that is used in communicating with other healthcare providers. Nursing theory is a systematic recommendations associated with questions linked into the discipline of nursing. Nursing theory provides a perspective from which defines what, who and when nursing is needed and at the same time identifies the boundaries and goals of nursing therapeutics activities.
The analytical results of nursing leadership in the teaching hospital showed that there was predominance of instrumental leadership characteristics of nurses, ie, professionals were oriented to the achievement of objectives, definition of roles and responsibilities, creating control systems and reward the work of the hospital. When reporting these studies I can say that the neuromuscular ward nurses, exercise leadership effectively these professionals need to find ways to make the management of nursing care see the real needs of patient, combining organisational goals with the objectives of the nursing staff. In short, the nurse needs to understand the process to lead and develop the necessary skills; among them, this also emphasises communication, interpersonal, decision making and clinical skills and applies them in their professional
CONCEPT 1-EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICE IN NURSING This concept was deducted from module 2 with the topic “Concept of Evidence-based practice”. Evidenced-based nursing is a way of making decision and providing nursing care that is based on clinical issues and combine it with the most current, relevant research that is available on that issue. Evidence based nursing utilize the most up to date method of providing care, which have been proven via assessing high quality studies and statistically with significant research findings. The goal is to improve the health and safety of patient while also providing care in a cost-effective manner to improve the outcome for both the patient and the health care system at large. According to Melyn and Fineout-overholt(2005)Evidence-based practice should be a problem-solving approach to clinical practice that integrates a systematic search for critical appraisal of the most relevant evidence to answer a burning clinical question.
The educational institutions of today are concerned with quality. With the emergence of competition among universities, the identification of the academic institutions that have a high level of quality has become a crucial issue. For this reason, the researcher declared that today, quality is the single most important issue in education. (1) The nursing education is very important due to close ties with people health and should lean toward quality improvement. Therefore, the quality of nursing program should be evaluated continuously by the local, national, and international evaluation systems.
Research design is the structure which is considered very important to both data collection and analysis. It is the plan for achieving the aims and objectives of the investigation. Oppenheim (1992) pointed out that the term research design refers to a basic plan or strategy of research and the logic behind it, which will make it possible and valid to draw more general conclusions from it. Kumar (2009) defined research design as a procedural plan that is adopted by the researcher to answer question validity objectively, accurately and economically. Understanding the philosophical issues of research design is of crucial importance for three reasons.
