Research is the methodical investigation to forecast, clarify, illustrate, and control the trend for the increment of stock of knowledge irrespective of man, society and culture utilizing the stock of knowledge to formulate new applications.

Research includes both of deductive and inductive methods. Inductive me-thod is useful for analyzing the observed phenomenon identifying structures, processes, principles and the deductive method is effective for the verification of principles with observations.

Gall, Borg and Gall (1996) mentioned four different types of knowledge those are most important for the development of professional skills.

2. Prediction
3. Improvement
4. Explanation

According to the description of Best & Kahn (1993) research should be de-fined as: ‘the objective and systematic analysis with recording of controlled observations leading to development of principles, theories, generalizations, predictions, or possibly the eventual control of the facts’. So research is done in education for the improvement of school practices as well as to develop the ideas for the future aspects in professional life.
