‘Supply chain management is the oversight of materials, information, and finances as they move in a process from supplier to manufacturer to wholesaler to retailer to consumer.’

Rouse, 2010 talks about how the importance of supply chain management is regulating the important business process in providing a product from primary sector to secondary and tertiary sectors.
Nescafe started in Brazil in the 1930’s.Due to Wall Street crash Brazil was left with excess amounts of coffee. Nescafe aims were to provide a delightful cup of coffee with just adding boiling water but to also preserve the natural coffee flavor. In order for coffee trees to be grown there is a specific climate and altitude needed. This is why Brazil has one of the highest production of coffee. The coffee beans then go from bean to powder. There are many methods to dry the bean so it can be processed to powder which is done in Brazil because there rainy and sunny seasons are defined so they can produced large amount of coffee beans for Nescafe.
