Technology: Revolution to Education

Over centuries, methods of learning things have changed through periods of time, including as early as the Renaissance period. During this time, scholars became more interested in the humanist features, rather than the secular or worldly religious aspects. Today, we improve the way of learning through technology. Technology Education is the means by which we teach students the Technology and Engineering components of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education which is found in the Pennsylvania Academic Standards for Science and Technology. Programs such as technological education were, along with others, the first to show a combined approach to STEM instruction. Interdisciplinary teams of teachers train and work together for cross curriculum planning and integrated delivery of instruction. Technology education is taught using a collaborative approach in which groups of students interact with teachers of mathematics, science, social studies, language arts, technology, and other disciplines. Instead of having them research in a book and having them searching for hours in a library, students can do online research to increase their understanding of whatever topic is task at hand. With such a quick and easy tool to refer to, the children can inhabit many questions that someone in the class, not even the teacher his or herself, can answer. Many teachers, especially schools choose to stay away from this situation by discouraging the use of computers in a well based organized lesson. Their latest shipment of Smartboards, ELMOs, or iPads stays locked in a closet as they struggle to find the time to effectively incorporate them into the curriculum
