Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) is vital in the comfort of occupants at the indoor environment. The physical comfort is about meeting the fundamental needs of occupants while the psychological comfort denotes the occupants' satisfaction or feeling of pleasure. Previous studies [1-9] identified the influence of physical and psychological factors to occupants' satisfaction in different work places. It also was revealed that various indoor human activities play an important role to impact psychological perception. Many previous studies identified the characteristics that affect the occupants' health as well as performance in the building. These include the indoor air quality, odors, temperature, acoustics, nature and artificial lighting. [1-3, 19-24]. The aforesaid factors can be combined to affect the occupants’ comfort in buildings. Since students spend majority of time at classroom, the indoor environment quality is critical and may have an impact on their studies [11]. Both senior and junior …show more content…
It is hoped that the teaching and learning effectiveness can be improved eventually. The results were made use to develop a mathematical model for predicting the students’ performance and teachers’ feeling. The outcome of this investigation can be used to improve kindergarten buildings to the students’ performance. Both objective measurements and subjective evaluations of the environment were conducted at various classroom. Analysis were performed using various parameters to distinguish which of them best discern the IEQ classifications in classrooms. Individual responses and objective measurements of IEQ could be obtained through conducting the survey and sound measurement. The study involved three aspects: (1) field measurements, (2) simple tasks and (3)
When you first walk into the classroom you unknowingly familiarizing yourself with your environment, for example; you notice the low buzz of the air condition humming above you, the navy-blue standard school chair, cold to the touch from hours of vacancy, the four posters posted on the beige bulletin board that reminds you of the color of your tea after you have poured too much cream into it, or even the ten unfamiliar faces staring straight at you. There is a white board in the front of the classroom for when there are assignments or notes that need to be taken. The smooth grey tables have two outlets in the middle that allows students to charge devices if needed. There is also an orange and black cord that wraps around and in-between desk like an out of control jungle vines. Everything in the room has its own place and
In the academic year of 2011-2012, I was responsible for increasing the percentage pass of the Living Environment by 10% at the World Academy for Total Community Health High school. The Living Environment Regents pass rate was 47% in 2010-2011. To achieve the goal, I examined the Item Analysis for the January 2012 Living Environment Regents. In summary, the students were only able to master 12 out of 85 questions.
3. According to the classroom teachers and parents, what are the dominant environmental influences that affect sixth grade students in each of the three configurations and what are the observed responses of the students?
The children in a school are valued, with an environment that fully encourages and celebrates their learning and progression and how they are developing. The provision of a safe and secure learning environment for all its pupils should be provided through recognizing the importance of welcoming diversity and equal opportunities. The atmosphere within a school should be positive, with this being reflected in the attitudes of the staff and pupils, all caring for and taking pride in their surroundings and in how the learning journey of each pupil takes
I come to class with excited feeling and joy to learn and work with children and staff in this class. I dress appropriated clothes and comfort to work with children all day long. I avoid absences and spend as much as possible time in class to learn and be with children. I get used to the classroom routine schedule and ask with my colleague and teachers activities and events that occur between children that I don’t understand. I remain positive attitude in the classroom all the time.
I visited two classes in an p-k through fifth grade elementary school. The teachers will be called Miss P for the preschool and Miss H for the first grade. I chose a four year old boy from the preschool class who will be called Pb and a six year old girl from the first grade who will be called Fg. The two were of different ethnic backgrounds with Fg being african american and Pb being white. This paper will include observations, and comparisons about the children, teachers, classroom environment and whether the naeyc code of ethical conduct was followed.
The 16 participants (11 female, five male; Mage = 21.81, SDage = 2.2, age range: 20-36 years) were undergraduates at the University of California, Los Angeles. They participated as per requirement for their Psychological Research Methods course. All were presumed to have English fluency, normal hearing, and normal or corrected-to-normal vision. Design
A place can contribute to productivity and creativity, it can get in the way and limit efforts. A well-designed place can provide a nudge that guides users to good results and offer cues to support better performance. Lately, the open office plans have been very popular as they are supposed to improve efficiency by allowing for more interaction between office staff. A variety of spaces needs to be provided in offices, spaces for teamwork, standing tables, moving walls, comfy sofa everything.
At Frist Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown I learned while observing and interacting how some of the different set up of areas impacted a student’s learning and space. Some of the areas were used for quiet time, noisier activities, and more active learning. This related to the (Component 2e) because organizing physical space around the classroom provides the student a variety of ways to learn together or alone inside the classroom while also developing their social skills and working through any academic or social difficulties (Component 2d). Lastly, at Head Start the lead teacher provided the students with daily duties inside the classroom. For example, some of the students had the responsibility to clean up stations, and prepare the snack/lunch for the class.
U1 AC 2.1 - Explain ways to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment. A number of ways to establish a safe and supportive learning environment is to stay within what is deemed as conventional rules and disciplines. A typical class room layout is rows of desks and chairs facing the front, it is the usual expected layout for learners and encourages them to accept conformity, something as simple as sitting on the chairs facing the front of the classroom is reassuring to the majority that the class is safe. In days of yesteryear the students would be expected to stand up when the teacher entered the room and wait for permission to be seated, thankfully those days are in the distant past and now it is acceptable to remain talking until the teacher is ready to begin class.
o Light: Have adequate lighting in the patient’s room. o Noise: Keep noise to the minimum. o Health of houses: The five essentials of efficient drainage, cleanliness, pure water, light and pure air.
C. Analysis In this chapter, I will make critical analysis on the results of the classroom observation with my opinion. 1. Teacher’s Classroom Management a. Managing students to pay attention to the lesson According to Warfield (2016) mentioned that classroom surrounding very affects to student performance.
Eco friendly building material is those provide the appropriate service and lifetime, with the minimal maintenance, while minimizing the decimation the raw of material, the pollution from, and also energy consumption by production and use, and that have the maximum potential for the reuse. The use of the Eco friendly building materials and products are represents one important strategy in the design of a building. In addition, the Eco friendly building materials have benefits to the building users such as improved health and the productivity, in order to change the spatial configurations of the lower costs associated, reduced maintenance costs over the life of the building and so forth.
It also aimed to know the pre-service teacher’s ways and strategies on managing a classroom environment. The study considers the student’s personal information such as their name (optional) gender, age, and section. The researchers limited to the study are the fourth year students enrolled in the second semester, the school year 2016-2017 of Batangas State University who are in the field as part of their curriculum and training to become professional teachers. Each of the respondents was given a questionnaire to answer.
