The Industrial Revolution began in England during the late 1700’s. This movement introduced improved agricultural methods, textile industries, and the export of machine-made goods. Because the agricultural business was finding more efficient ways to manage their products, the working class decreased in this field (Document 7). This extreme drop in numbers led to people whining for a steady, supportive job. Luckily for the thousands of unemployed, the demand for factory workers increased (Document 2).
The Industrial Revolution, which occurred between around 1760 and 1820-1840, was a period of transition from hand production methods to machines, new chemical manufacturing and iron production processes, and the use of water and steam power. It led to unprecedented population growth and a rise in average income and population[2]. The growth of industries and factories in Great Britain led to urbanization, overcrowding, and poor living conditions in industrial towns[7]. In the short term, the poor living conditions in industrial towns led to the spread of diseases and illnesses[8]. However, the British government passed several laws and regulations aimed at improving the lives of people living in industrial towns.
Another reason why the Industrial Revolution had such a negative impact of society was the dangerous working conditions in all the factories. Working was not only treacherous for children, but for everyone employed on the factories. ”Industrial growth brought with it a host of environmental pollution problems” (Document 3). As the Industrial Revolution was propelling along, fossil fuels such as coal were used to power the factories. Even though this was marvelous that the factories were getting power, people were being exposed to toxic fumes for about 14 hours a day and sometimes more.
During the Industrial Revolution, Great Britain experienced significant technological progress which contributed to its economic expansion. However, this period also had negative consequences such as pollution, disease, and poor living and working conditions including child labor. These issues had long term impacts and shaped the future of the world. Despite these negative effects, there were also positive outcomes like increased job opportunities, higher production rates, and an impact on global trade.
The industrialization of Great Britain led the world to modern technology because of all of their ample amount of natural resources and political stability. With multiple entrepreneurs looking for new factories and capital to invest in those factories, they continued to show the world they were the leaders in urbanization at that time. While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily positive consequences for society because of modernized machines, it was actually a negative thing for society. Industrialization’s negative effects were child labor, separated families, and bad quality of life.
The Industrial Revolution refers to a time of greatly increased output of machine-made goods that emerged within the textile industry. The Industrial Revolution, which began in England in the late 1700’s, had a wide range of positive and negative effects on the economic and social life of the people of England. The results of the Industrial Revolution have been interpreted many ways through the various social classes of Britain; the peasants who suffered from the dangers of the factories and tenements and the upper class who benefited from capital and enterprises. Although the Industrial Revolution positively affected Britain’s iron production and added conveniences and comforts to daily life for the upper class, the dangers of the factories’

Charles Knight, in Document 2, describes how workers in the modern factories had access to comforts and conveniences that did not exist a few centuries ago. Houses were better built, clothes were cheaper, and people had access to an infinite number of domestic utensils. This shows that the Industrial Revolution had a positive impact on the standard of living for the working
Time and time again people wonder if Industrialization had a greater negative or positive effect. Although Industrialization brought many good things for everyday lives, it also had negative effects. While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily positive consequences for society because new job and job opportunities, it was actually a negative thing for society. Industrialization’s negative effects were children not being educated due to child labor, long working hours, and unsafe working conditions. People argue that Industrialization had positive consequences for society because new jobs and job opportunities.
The new factory system allowed products to be more widely available to the public. The price dropped due to the increase of production and now even the lower classes in society could afford these mass produced products. “You are surrounded… with an infinite number of comforts and conveniences which had no existence two or three centuries ago and those comforts are not used only by a few, but are within the reach of almost all men.” (Document 4) Document 4 demonstrates the idea of how things products that didi’t exist previously was able to be in the hands of whoever wanted it. Another positive affect of the Industrial Revolution was how there were many more jobs available within society.
While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily negative consequences for society because of the dangerous working conditions with no compensation for injury, it was actually a positive thing for society. Industrialization’s positive effects were that there were more jobs, child labor laws were created, and there was better transportation. The first thing was that more jobs were introduced. This made it easier for people to provide for their family, and although everyone had to work, they were all able to get a job so they could work.
The Industrial Revolution was from 1750 to 1830, a period of time that caused an economical and cultural shift. This era brought a mix of positive and negative effects that not only affected the area it was in but also its surroundings. In result of the revolution there was the cottage industry, agriculture, harsh labor within the system of factory- based manufacturing that included complex machinery, the growth of technology, new resources and the development of transportation. Also the series inventions that increased the production of manufactured goods, which then led to the increased size in the population. A series of the positive effects that came from the industrialization mostly came from the factory owners and the individuals who were above the middle class.
Something that was good about the industrial revolution was that there was more workers and people could get payed more. Things that were bad was that little kids could. That’s bad because kid get hurt for example, for kids who worked on farms would ride on horse rakes and easily fall off and get crushed. Kids would get overworked after working 12 hours a day.
Environmental damage, exploitation of workers, and overpopulation in cities are all negative effects of American Industrialization. American Industrialization had many effects come out of it, both positive effects and negative effects.
